Apparently off to Saudi Arabia to play with farmers, that goal record will be getting stat-padded.
Not yetI didn’t realise we had Saudi teams in the Champions League.
But instead of bleating about needing to play in the CL he should just come out and say his head was turned in the summer by an obscene offer from Saudi Arabia and he’s hoping a bigger club will match it. Now he’s realised they won’t he’s going to Saudi. I really think people would respect it more than this circus he’s created.how could anybody turn down that amount of money?
everybody has a price
Worked out ok for Beckham with the move to MLS.. if Ronaldo is the new face of Saudi football and can legitimise and grow the sport over there. Well he won’t be short of a penny or two!Oh!
Where is Caroline Ahearn, to do a Mrs Murton interview, when we really need her.
"So, Christiano, what was it about the £225M Saudi contract, that really enticed you away from playing club football, at any meaningful level?"
Maybe he will buy Man Utd himself!!Worked out ok for Beckham with the move to MLS.. if Ronaldo is the new face of Saudi football and can legitimise and grow the sport over there. Well he won’t be short of a penny or two!
All the backroom staff at this Saudi club seem to be Portuguese.. player manager role for him lined up perhaps?Maybe he will buy Man Utd himself!!
Piers Morgan as chairman?
to be fair, they couldn't do any worse than the Scottish teams do every year in the champions league.I didn’t realise we had Saudi teams in the Champions League.
Another beckham myth he never sold the sport over these as most Americans hadn’t heard of him ( as a footballer) he was so famous he chose a basketball an ex players no another cynical gimmick.Worked out ok for Beckham with the move to MLS.. if Ronaldo is the new face of Saudi football and can legitimise and grow the sport over there. "The league has grown exponentially but it would have grown anyway. I see a direct link with players like Thierry Henry and Robbie Keane coming over to MLS but I'm not going to buy into the argument that he [Beckham] revolutionised it because the league has been making slow, gradual climbs forward (via BBC.co.uk)."
People mocked him for moving over there $250 million contract with his own football clubAnother beckham myth he never sold the sport over these as most Americans hadn’t heard of him ( as a footballer) he was so famous he chose a basketball an ex players no another cynical gimmick.
American journalist Sean Wheelock disagrees with the assumption that the current popularity of MLS is down to Beckham alone. When featuring as a guest on the BBC’s world football radio show, Wheelock argued that the growth of the league was inevitable, with or without Beckham:
Again money it’s all about the bottom linePeople mocked him for moving over there $250 million contract with his own football club
32yo with six seasons at La Galaxy then still managed 33 appearances for AC Milan and 14 for PSG
It’s just football. People take more money for much worse things.. who would expect a daft footballer to make the right decision.Again money it’s all about the bottom line
250 million is obscene makes his Qatar vanity project even more sickening then doesn’t it.
If only scholes was better looking eh
It might be many things but it’s definitely not football. It’s just football. People take more money for much worse things.. who would expect a daft footballer to make the right decision.
Yes 2030 is being statedAre Saudi doing to help their World Cup bid?
I know he has a big fan base but surely they won’t bother watching score against a load of poor players. Apart from his bank balance I don’t see what anyone gains from this.
