This month long Payero saga and Muniz have surprisingly been leaked to the press during season ticket sales.

If this is the case, frankly I don’t blame the club. If we have potential assets to help market us - great. If they don’t come off? Slightly trickier!

Ikpeazu was rumoured for a while.
As was Lumley, as was Ameobi.

I think the only one that has come out of the blue is Peltier and that's because Fisher got injured and we needed a quick replacement.

The only difference with them is that they're not exotic signings from a far away land.
If somebody is only willing to buy a season ticket because of a foreign transfer saga, they're clearly a bit daft anyway.

We didn’t take the option of signing Muniz in January (sounded like we had the first option) Now we’ve been to Brazil/Portugal to sign off on the deal.. Fulham (after dropping Josh Maja for being too expensive, are throwing all sorts of money at an 18yo Brazilian.

From a €1m loan deal to a £16m transfer in 24 hours?

With the money we’d spend on him I dare say we can find an alternative but you get the feeling the clubs trying to give us something to shout about with the potential of a Brazilian striker

A 20 year old Brazilian striker is a risk. I would be over the moon if we signed him, but it looks like the game has been played out and Fulham have put the money up.
There are more out there, but a lot of time and effort has been wasted, why can't we do our business on the quiet and get it done?
I may get up tomorrow to find we have done the deal. We shall see.

Yep, I think Flamengo are playing Fulham and Boro off against one another leaking info to the media that may well be false. For all we know Fulham might not even be in the race and we could be bidding against ourselves. Stick to the offer made, if they don’t like it then good luck to them with whoever buys him. 19 professional games ffs, if he were really that good, you’d have lower tier Prem teams sniffing or the likes of Porto, Benfica, Vallencia, Getafes etc

He was linked to athletico a month or so ago.

I'm wary about both of them to be honest. We don't really have a good record of picking untested youngsters. Still I'd rather a couple of gambles like this than the lunacy of the monk window.

There's part of me that hopes we'll sign them both and they'll be a raging success. Then there's 20 years of bitter cynicism sitting on my shoulder reminding me about de Pena and Fletcher.

Defo! It's a load of crap. Fulham who haven't been out to see him know nothing of him are now whopping out 6/7/8 times more than we've been looking to invest.

It's madness! The likes of Fred, Jo, Love & Richaerlison didn't command these sorts of fees! Getting huge whiffs of Michael Ricketts and Carlos De Pena.. if we miss out on the next Lee Dong-Gook then so be it.
