Rod Liddle on Middlesbrough Question Time

It's depressing, and the Middlesbrough edition no more or less so because it's supposedly a message from home to the Teesside diaspora. I always take from these shows that the challenge for the fine minds and beautiful characters that inhabit this forum isn't to convince each other of what is right but to convince Mr Pink Shirt. About his misperception about immigration, and of course about his sartorial choices.

He also seems to think the old Pacer trains are still running. No Rod, they were replaced about a decade ago. It is a derelict waste land now mind you.

Not defending Rod Liddle, he's an absolute scumbag, and he's still wrong, but they were only replaced on Teesside in 2019-20.

Just a bit of pedantry, but I still fondly remember the day I finally got on a non-pacer at Redcar Central, and it was the luxury of a train from the 90s instead of the 70s.

Actually I did notice there were quite a few pink shirts (literally) that’s apart from Mr d*ck Head.

The women called Angela (didn't catch her surname) who asked a question, the camera was in her quite a few times, they went back to her just before the programme finished. Does anyone know who she is, she looks very familiar to me, think i have seen her on the TV before.

Wow, where do I start. What a horrible man Rob Liddle turns out to be, and that’s before I find out he’s a paedo, ‘mental health is worse for billionaires in Monaco’ ffs 🙄

Also based on comments above I took particular note of how Fiona interrupted the Tory v the Labour woman and she was brutal with the Labour woman and never interrupted the (horrible /shouty/ desperate sounding) Tory lady.

Tim Farron, wtf are the Lib Dem’s doing, this year is their massive opportunity and yet they’re invisible and Fallon turns up to be the clown.
It happens every episode. She comes across almost sympathetic for whoever has been picked by the Tories to try and defend their record.

Thought it was a poor lineup tonight to be honest, the author was the best speaker.

Legz, dunno bout you but that was the most depressing hours viewing. Just awful. I can’t stand farron because of his tinpot views on homosexuality and religion but he was the only vaguely sensible one on there. Liddell is crackpot. As for the others jeez. Wish I hadn’t bothered
Totally agree. Had a mate in the audience....front row...had a question about our dodgy **** ex boss now the PCC...not asked....what a surprise!!

Liddle's mental health argument was one where he's seen a graph and not understand the difference between correlation and causation. The wealthiest countries have the most mental health issues because they have the most mental health provisions and are able to diagnose and treat it. Undiagnosed mental health issues exist all over the world and at all income levels. If you commit money to measuring and dealing with a problem then of course you are going to find more people with the problem.

F*&ing trainspotters... :ROFLMAO:

That was brutal even by QT standards. 20 mins and off.

The Tory lady trying to justify something that is never, ever, ever, ever going to solve the immigration /small boats problem. Toing the party line with scripted responses and wooly "facts".

The Labour lady waffling on, letting us know Labour are, like, going to do some sort of stuff..... continually interrupted by Bruce.

Liddle.......

Farron and the author came across well, but couldn't get a word in.

Good to see hard hitting questions affecting the people of Teesside........🙄🙄

Awful.

And that Ben Houchen grannyfan with the massive pink throat adornment. Some pre-show Whatsappery methinks.
Oh absolutely, reading some fed embarrassing line that drew howls of laughter from the panel because it was so clearly scripted about him being “a man of our time” ffs

Man of our time, man of our town, man of the people - Christ it was like he suddenly cured cancer

The best thing labour could have said there is we'd absolutely financially support the mayor on any transparent projects with the proper oversight and controls in place using proper tendering processes to ensure good value for the taxpayer

Ben Houchen’s Auntie is on now. Jesus Christ. She’s even mentioned the New Hospital (which he can’t build).
I flicked it on just when she was in the middle of her cringeworthy tribute to the New Messiah Houchen, surrounded by clapping seals and switched back over.

So...just finished watching. Question time used to be about problems in the actual area...not now...barely touched the problems in the local area in my opinion....I mean that Conservative talking about levelling up in her constituency and it's no where near the North East.....cheese and rice!!!
Complain to ofcom, its the only way
