Riley McGree

I've been critical in the past, and he was poor at WBA both in and out of possession , but credit wheres credits due, he started the game slowly yesterday, and I was thinking "here we go again" but he improved as the game went on.
Hope this is the start of Mcgree showing up in games, I was pleased to be proved wrong about him yesterday.

I mentioned a few times on here that he seemed to be a yard off the pace both physically and mentally but yesterday he looked like his old self and very hungry for the ball.

It is good to see things going in the right direction for him and the team.

He was brilliant yesterday and probably should have got a couple of goals. First half in particular O’Brien pushed right up allowing McGree to drift. It’ll be interesting if O’Brien continues to play there.

You’ve been wrong about him plenty, don’t worry about that

Big fan of McGree but his game suffers when he plays alongside less talented players. Alongside Chuba and Archer last season he was unreal.

You can tell he's still trying to adjust to the way the likes of Silvera and Rogers play.

To be fair he should know all about silvera as he’s just been on the Aussie training camp in the us for 2 weeks with him.

nailed it.

Riley is a proper footballer he needs a few more footballers around him. Like Obrien funnily enough

It’s good that he has his big supporters so he must be doing something right but obviously not everybody totally convinced about him.

He has to continue to earn his place in the team.

He's so good, gives the ball away at times but that's because he is always trying to make something happen. Got the balls to make mistakes but persist with wanting the ball.

Thing is Hackney does this too and gets absolute pelters for it!

Don't understand the Adam Armstrong inclusion, but Whitaker scored a hat-trick in a 6-2 demolition of Norwich.

He'll definitely deserve inclusion ahead of Jones, as good as Jones was yesterday, but Jones should be there ahead of Armstrong for me.

I wouldn't say it has been the same this season, Hackney has given the ball away far more needlessly than McGree this season and from deeper areas which is obviously more dangerous if you give it away.

Both were great yesterday though.
