Former Derby County captain Richard Keogh is being linked with a move to a Championship club.
Some Rams fans think he could be heading back to Pride Park with the Republic of Ireland international left out of MK Dons' 3-0 defeat to Peterborough United on Saturday.
Keogh made over 350 appearances during a seven-year spell with the club that saw him lead the Rams to Wembley for two play-off finals.
He departed the club when his contract was terminated due to gross misconduct after he was involved in a car crash following a team bonding session in September 2019.
Tom Lawrence and Mason Bennett, also involved in the incident, both pleaded guilty for drink driving but remained with the club - the latter has since departed for Millwall.
Will Derby County struggle to attract the quality of player they need given their position in the league?
Keogh missed most of 2019-20 because of a serious knee injury suffered in the crash, but returned to football when he signed for MK in August last year.
He's made 21 appearances this season but wasn't involved against Posh and MK manager Russell Martin has confirmed that Keogh is in talks with a Championship side about a move back to the second tier.
Derby, who lost 1-0 to Rotherham United on Saturday, need a centre-back following a season-ending Achilles injury to Curtis Davies.
"Richard is in talks with a Championship club – it's a surprise to everyone," Martin told the MK Citizen.
"He expressed a desire to pursue that and we've agreed a deal which is very good for someone of his age, but disrupting for us, so it's a blow.
"But when someone expresses a desire to leave, it changes the plan late on. We're being empathetic to someone who wants to go elsewhere, and it enables us to invest and replace him."
"Could he be coming home?" one Derby fan asked.
Another says: "Can't be much worse than what we currently have, but I doubt he would come back."
"Keogh, the return..." a third fan says while another adds: "Surely it can't happen."
"Keogh for Derby anyone?" asks another.

12 min agoHe wont go back to you for sure. You made him the escape goat and backed the drivers in the drink/drugs crash becouse they was young and you'd make a packet on there future transfers only for the 2 off them to fail big time, 2 over rated useless players, 1 gone and the other cannot get in a rubbish side.

Has he suddenly become a striker or a creative midfielder ? We seem to be lacking in both those assets.

Heart, passion, commitment, body on the line week in week out, an inspiration to his team-mates. Come on guys, he's never been replaced.

I'd have him back in a second. He gave 100% in every game and drove others to do the same. Not like todays shirkers.
