Revisiting albums from your youth

Played this yesterday. It came out in 2000 so not exactly my youth but not played it for about 12 years and was stunned that I had forgotten how good it was. In fact it was so good I was going to start a thread this morning about Buried Treasues(stole that title from Mojo Ithink) but the OP beat me to it. The first track was asingle I believe, the second the stunning album opener.

It's Jo And Danny – Lank Haired Girl To Bearded Boy...............................this track is called Repentant Song

I still regularly listen to a lot of music from my youth, Zappa, Black Sabbath etc and just listened to the 1st ten Hawkwind albums. Been trying to think of some stuff that used to be listened to all the time and reckon I need to dig out my REM and Faith No More albums.

Yes, though not sure how to go about it yet. Away for a long weekend from tomorrow but next week I reckon ...

Probably the best way is to list them on Discogs, although that may be a pain if you've got loads, with the easiest just selling as a bulk lot to somewhere like Sound it Out in Stockton.

If of course you fancy putting up a list on here, and breaking up your collection then I suspect you'd get plenty of interest.....

This is the way.

Discogs good but you'll need loads of vinyl postage boxes and time spent setting up each listing. Sound it out good too but obv they'll take a cut. Get it listed on here and then deal with what doesn't go.

But you'll obviously get the true market value of each record, and you're going to need to use it anyways to look up the value wherever you sell it as you dont want to let something precious go for a song, and equally things you think are worth something quite often aren't.

There's a fair few of us record collectors on here though, so with a vested interest then it would be great to see them listed on here.

Another I have been playing recently is Mercury Dime - Darkling. From 1998. It is a fantastic album that probably suffered from the fact the singer sounded to much like Michael Stipe. And the had a name that was difficult to search for as it just throws up information about coins.
Anyway its a wonderful album and you can here it all on the link to this track. And yes it does sound like REM but don't let that put you off it is as good as some of their albums. And I love REM.
