Ref again — tackle on Latte

Side note on Lath. I placed £5 on him to score a brace last night. So clearly miffed when he went off after a couple of mins.

Just checked my account and £5 refunded saying 'void' bet. I'm guessing they have to play a certain amount of mins? Didn't know such a thing existed in the betting world.

I didn't know that either, but I was surprised watching the extended highlights back to see the challenge was no more than 90 seconds into the game. I'd recalled it as being about 5 mins in.

Just watched the highlights and I'm not sure what everyone is smoking but the challenge on ELL at the very start is never a penalty, not in a million years
Weird because on the Chelsea board everyone agreed it was a penalty and a few claimed it could have been a red

Which he then used to control the ball by moving it forward
That isn't what happened though. The only reason he even takes such an awkward touch and jerks forward to begin with is that Jones pushes him in the back just before it.

Guarantee if this happened in literally any other match not featuring Boro nobody on here would think this is a penalty.

Was it a push though or did he just stop sharply in front of Isaiah (Mo Salah style) to try and control the ball in a situation he should have just been trying to clear it?

The problem is that if that had been the other way round you tend to think all the Chelsea arms would have gone up and the ref gives a pen.

A foul is a foul regardless of where the ball is going or what you intend to do with it.
This is the law yet it simply isn't applied is it. We all know that "soft fouls" are rarely given as penalties but would be given as free kicks anywhere else on the pitch.

Who the hell knows if the handball was worth a shout, the game has made a right mess of things, players, fans, pundits, none of us can decide.

I was happy with the hand to ball, deliberate stance but we know this isn't always the way it's applied now.

I'd have said no way was that handball but who knows these days.

You sit on a throne of lies!

Look at his other hand that he can magically move.. then look at his oft her hand that stiffens towards the ball.

H A N D B A L L

Should have been 3-0

Not actually seen the handball back, but I wasn't even trying to claim for it at the time, so I'm fine it not being given.

Most bookies will void a bet if it hasn't come in and a player is subbed before half time.
