Rees Mogg Reality Show

Just finding out about this now.

Now I know some people are going to say it's just a bit of fun Reality TV and they are entitled to their opinion.

Personally I am horrifies that this throwback to victorian establishment who has been instrumental in the erosion of this country for far too long gets handed another platform, I'm sure there will be some "humor" but ultimately it will be him spouting his ill informed drivel relatively unfiltered with people who struggle from paycheck to paycheck calling for the abolition of inheritance tax.

I wonder how many more Tory turds will be this stubborn to flush.

So don't watch it.

The man was a total non-entity of a politician until Brexit made him apparently important.

Just don’t watch it. I turn off anything that **** appears on. Same for the rest of the Brexit loonies.

The same applies to all of those ERG loons. Brexit unleashed them on the country and the Tory party. What is nice though is it led to the party’s destruction this election!

I imagine it will be a good watch, mainly to see what an absolute cretin he is.
See I'm not convinced, Farage is arguably a bigger cretin and is somehow massively popular.

Giving these people the limelight is a terrible idea (unless of course you plan to game from the long term outcome) because you run the risk of people thinking they are somehow more competent or astute than they really are.

And of course their divisive opinions on immigration and inclusivity etc that they're really not qualified to comment on in any kind of public forum. Having the money and influence to grease your way into a Tory safe (until it isn't) seat doesn't make you a political genius but people in the same echo chamber as this idiot will turn a blind eye to all the OTT posh antics and before you know there'll be people in the canteen the next morning saying "he knows what he's talking about"

I think in 5 years time the likes of Mogg will have run their course and will no longer be in the public eye.

Mogg does have a certain charisma. It's annoying if you know what he's really like and the vile views he holds but he has this calm, measured, mildly eccentric persona that will appeal to a lot of people. The fact he speaks with a posh accent will fool a certain type too.

I never met him when he was in Cabinet Office, but my boss did and said he came across very well in person, talked to staff with respect etc. But then the next day runs to the telegraph to tell them how civil servants are all workshy b***ds. He's a snake.

I agree, best off not giving him any oxygen.

I can see this as a ratings winner - a new task each week. Breaking up fatbergs in London's sewers, being an Underground 'fluffer' - collecting all the human hair and ratshìt from the tunnels, armpit deep in a pregnant cow's chuff...all in his Jermyn St. double breasted chalk stripe of course.

Savile Row for his suits, Jermyn street is mainly known for shirtmaking as well as cobblers.

There are things in the RM schtick that are purposefully exaggerated. The patriarchal stance, the pretence that he sees himself somewhat confused by the present age, while making millions out it…the transfer of his company to Ireland. Especially his over articulated voice, which distracts from the content, which a lot of times contains nothing but absolute shoite.
Maybe there’s still a strand of serfdom that lives in sections of the population.
Because I keep being totally baffled by some of their reactions the garbage they’re willing to swallow. Not obviously just from him.
