Redeveloping Old Trafford.

Maybe he should ask his fellow owners who have taken huge amounts of cash out of the club to fund the build?

Sell it off!

New England Revolution is a proper naff name in MLS.. and there is a Manchester in New Hampshire.

job done.

there's a Newcastle in Washington too..

Oooh.. you just said you’d support Newcastle.. blah blah.. etc etc lol
(Seems to be the way things are going round here.. the oneboro influence methinks)

Like dealing with a politician...

To be clear, I would support the removal of our black & white neighbours to another Hemisphere

The man is a billionaire so will definitely get the attention of politicians. It wouldn’t surprise me if any redevelopment is made part of a wider area redevelopment.

As someone said. Man City got a new stadium for almost nothing. It could easily happen again if Ratcliffe offers a few million quid to a political party.

Why would it happen when he's talking about a National Stadium for the North. Too much already invested in Wembley for that to be allowed to happen.

2nd National stadium in Sheffield. Owls and Blades share.
Good motorway links. Rail links. Airport about to reopen. Centre of England.
All finals and semi-finals with northern teams played there.

The M1 around Sheffield is always clogged with traffic. I actively avoid it when driving up to games.

The M6, M62 always run freely!
All our motorways have issues.
South Yorkshire is a good destination, distance wise from lots of England and is ripe for ‘levelling up’.

There's various ways he could put a case forward.

The one thing that a project like this can always bang the drum about is jobs. 1000+ jobs for circa 3 or 4 years during construction phase plus all the permanent jobs.

They will probably have to look outside of just football and put a case forward for bringing other sports to the north of England. Rugby? NFL? Boxing? As well as music?

Could we see something like a part ownership? Where United lease 50% and own 50%?

I'm not saying it should happen but I can see a situation where it does.

It would have been nice if Wembley had been rebuilt outside of London.
I'm also against the idea that any single club should benefit from a National Stadium, but it has already happened with Man City & West Ham.
