Red Faction - walking out on 30th minute

I'm 100% behind this, me and my granddaughter have season tickets in the south and struggled this season to raise the cash. Any increase does make a difference so we won't be able to renew. The club need to know this is disgraceful, especially when they are cancelling meetings with fan groups who want to discuss the matter face to face. 'POWER TO THE PEOPLE' :)

They have my full support.

Gibson promised dialogue with all the fan bases… didn’t happen

Those saying it’s only a £30 quid increase… it’s on average £100 over the last three years. Over a 25% increase on top of one of the most expensive tickets in the football Pyramid

It’s a pi$$ take and deserves a protest

Maybe a better option would be those who want to protest leave on 30 mins but watchh game in concourse then comeback for 2nd half and support the team.
Thousands leaving on 30 mins would still get the message across.
But players would still be backed 2nd half
Splendid idea.

I can’t see many others walking out and I can’t see this achieving anything. The club have made their position and reasoning clear. I disagree with it and won’t be renewing next season, but I also won’t be walking out.
I think TeaCider hit the anil on the head, the club won't change their minds on this season's prices but they might consider these actions when looking at the following season.

I think you would have more chance of this happening.

The club have made the case for why it needs to be done. I'll be renewing.
Have they made it clear why we are the most expensive in the league ? Or how other clubs can have cheaper prices. Or why my 6 year old son's ticket is £19 with a £1.50 booking fee when Preston can charge £5.00 ? And seem to get by ok, they are an average championship club exactly like we are.

Is it always going to fall on the fans to cough up everytime there's cost increases?

Most concessions arre going up by £40 not £30
The cheapest ST in ground additional U11 year old in GRFZ is going up by 25%
Outrageous increases for the people with the least money.
Everyone keeps quoting £30 but it is a lot worse than that for many.

Most people with a kid over 10 would have to headlock them to be in the GRFZ
Chances of me getting my teen foster kid in there for two new season tickets are about 2%

Last season was the best and most enjoyable for some time, i even went to quite a few away games and enjoyed those also as we won most of them. So i felt I got value for money, something that has been missing for several years.
Many have been asking for new signings or bringing in high wage earners on loan, it all costs money. The increases in the price of most things is affecting all of us and MFC is no different. I guess none of us really know the ins and outs of the clubs finances but one thing is for sure, back in the dark days of 86 many of us could only believe having what we have now.
I will likely pay as I have done for many years and I will have to offset the additional cost by not going away, that should save some of the cost. Its early to fork out that amount by the end of March.
I do sympathise with others who will also find it hard to justify additional costs, especially families and younger fans.
One thing for sure they costs are not going down in the future so we need the team to get into the Premiership soon to help with the clubs financial situation. Perhaps we will get some stability.

If I could be bothered I would look at the post last week and the massive uproar after the new prices were announced. Then I'd check the outrage and measure it against the negativity in this thread when somebody proposes some collective action rather than just a moan and a winge.

Without checking I can see at least one poster, who was rightly calling out the club last week and now isn't really up for doing anything about it.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, this mirrors similar behaviours in the British public, taking the collective shyte that we have over the past 14 years or so. I'm certain it's not at all on purpose, but it's still depressing.

People go with their consciences and vote with their heads or feet, or both.
It's a voluntary action.
It's no different to being able to withdrawing your labour: in this case money to the club.
Whether or not Gibson listens, it will be the first time there has actually been a visible physical reaction to our prices and especially some examples quoted for families.
We've usually all complained, but still paid up.

I guess the key point here is that we don’t have an owner profiting from the fans, he’s still putting 1m per month into the club to stop it folding.

People say there would be no club without fans, but there would be no club without gibbo, or it would be scrapping around league two and most of those complaining and walking out wouldn’t be interested.

Yes, everyone would like it to be cheaper, but he isn’t trying to fleece you all and if he’s putting money in without hesitation and has just written 80m off (or however much it is) then why shouldn’t you push the boat out too?
