Red Faction - Ticket Price Statement

We're having our biggest crowds because we came out of lockdown at the start of last season, many of the season tickets were rolled over and we then had a relatively successful time.

Do not kid yourself and pretend we would have 20,000+ season tickets this year if we'd finished 22nd last season.

People will always scrimp and save for something if they think it's good, even if it's too expensive.

It doesn't mean the price is justified in the first place.
So you’re saying it’s down to success? I agree with you, the discussion is about finance though, we are having our biggest crowds due to success and during the highest amount of financial uncertainty we’ve seen in decades yet people are still turning up in their thousands.

Just had a look at twickets

Marti Pellow £78
Dream Theater £101
Rick wakeman £98
Chris Brown £171
The Damned £49
Killing Joke £65
Panic at the disco £65
Michael Bublé £79
Lizzo £86
Arctic Monkeys £118
Beyonce £433
Courteeners £63
The Strokes £91

Two things immediately occur to me.
1. What am I doing sitting here typing this **** when I could be buying tickets to see Marti Pellow.
2. The rest of life is so expensive now going to a football match actually seems like decent value.

Are you seeing any of them up to 46 times in the next year?

Obviously it's down to success.

People jump on the bandwagon when things are going well, or they think it will.
That's just a basic understanding of life.

That does not mean that exceedingly high prices are justified.

We did not make 2 loans signings and a cheap signing from Rotherham because we have the 2nd highest prices in the division.

Our high prices are not why we're third in the division at this moment in time.

Loan signings aren’t cheap, fee and wages can be very expensive. If people weren’t turning up during our success I’d agree it’s too expensive yet they are turning up.

Yes. Marti Pellow.

Fair enough if you are, but those also ridiculous prices are able to be priced so high because it's a once in a long time experience for most people.

Our £31 matchday tickets are not priced with the consideration that people will only turn up once just to say they've seen Beyonce.

:DI have to admit, I did not expect that post to be taken seriously.

I'm hoping if we get promoted the prices get seriously whacked up. Only chance I'll get to see an away game when all the one season wonders rock up with their loyalty points.

Anyway, I don't really see how many times you go to something is relevant. You want to go to the football 46 times. I want to go to see Marti Pellow 46 times. What's the difference. There are people who like music more than football you know.

Didn’t it go up by a quid or something? Let’s see what it is before people chastise the club. Things cost money and prices are only going up. It’s value for money to have a season ticket if you go 10 or so times a season.
I agree. But ridiculously expensive for walk-ups and speaking as a season ticket holder of a couple of years, I know how that put me off coming casually, when it was £50-odd for me and the kids. I know some SC holders disagree but I want the ground as full as possible and would love to see cheaper prices for those who, whether they can't afford it, live away or just don't want to come every game, don't want a season ticket. Sorry if this point has already been made, couldn't be axxxd reading the whole thread.

This again. 🙈

Football clubs raise their ticket prices, fans continue to pack out stadiums, football clubs continue to raise their ticket prices. This is nothing new and not specific to MFC or to football.

Certain cohorts have always been priced out, sad but true. The poorest in society are priced out of lots of things, even basic utilities. The only way to eradicate this is socialism, which the western world (including the poorest members of its electorates) has repeatedly voted against.

I’m not saying don’t complain, but it will have zero impact but for the occasional PR stunt by the odd club here and there. We live in a ruthless, cutthroat, opportunistic world.

Someone clearly out of touch with reality for a lot of working class people. £500 each minimum for one person to attend 23 games a year won’t be possible for most, especially when it’s well over £1k to be taking kids, close to 1.5/£2k a year for a family to go
It’s actually not though unless you choose not to sit in the family stand. I pay £840 for 4 season tickets. An average of just over £9 per match per seat (plus 2 free drinks). Appreciate not everyone can afford that outlay but there are lots of things wrong with capitalism. Until the working classes start to vote against capitalism, we’ll continue to have capitalism.
