Red faction statement.. ticket prices

On the contrary, it's the threat of action which lead to the Chairman agreeing to meet various fan groups. Those who can't make the meetings can always donate to the various fan groups if they so wish.

Don't forget to support the Easter Egg Drive for Zoe's Place.

Again, with all due respect we are not on about charity campaigns so thats a pointless comment.

Speaking out about prices is not about being involved in RF, you can say they're open to all but its not.
Here they pushed a campaign and got a lot of people talking who usually just stay quiet or grumble then pay. They managed to get quite a large amount of fans on their side and agreeing with RF, a lot of whom have criticised RF in the past!

All of that just been a massive deflation, its all ended up being soft words.

Well they've stepped down all this fuss and nothings been achieved once again fan groups have zero say in what Gibson does.

We'll have to agree to disagree. (y)

Statement is interesting.
Reads as if they've they've been told "absolutely not " on anything else till 2025 /2026.
RF haven't said " we're not going to do anything until then to show our objections"
Guess time will tell.

I can't understand how anyone can call RF bottle jobs or spinless for not carrying on with the action they first mentioned. My suggestion to you would be to take up the reins and organise your own protest, you have plenty of time before the next home game and there seems plenty who are willing to follow you.
Exactly. (y)

This is my personal view, not an FMTTM view. RF have perhaps taken on board some realism. In much the same way as the other supporters groups have had to do. That realism isn't "We accept that the Chairman is so ominipotent that we tug our forelocks". Maybe it's "Oh ****, we really are in a spot". Or whatever.

I look at football now and it's not that dissimilar from the 70s. It's just the scale of finance is different.

I just ask myself "Do we have a Chairman who is rinsing the club? (Ask a Man Utd fan) ... or do we have a chairman who has the most expensive season ticket of all. Do we have a Chairman who is a fan on a Saturday, who kicks things at 5.00pm? Or do we have a bean counter?

I'm not his biggest fan, but he wouldn't be mine either, so fair enough. But he's probably a bigger Boro fan than I am.

I don't like what RF did last week... but I actually applaud their pragmatism with that statement.

I'll just be going to the games that I can get to. Problem is that I don't know from one day to the next if my back is going to be all right so I can't really make any plans. It feels fine today but I might wake up tomorrow in agony.
This is part of the problem with the high walk up prices. Once I stopped having a season ticket due to work and other commitments, then if there is uncertainty about whether you will be in a position to go you start doubting buying a ticket in case you can't make it.

It's so substantially different than the 70's it's untrue..
Unless half the Boro squad are living on cricket lane in Normanby, and driving Ford Cortinas.

Not sure it would of cost a days wage to many to take two kids to the match ?

Did you miss the bit where I said that the scale of the finance is different?

I don't think there's a Boro fan around who doesn't want Gibson as chairman.

Doesnt mean you can't speak out or campaign about the price of football, which ultimately is the difference between fans going to the stadium or staying at home.
