Red Faction disgraceful today

They is a lack of security at games in the West Upper today saw folks bringing pints up that's not allowed either but the stewards do nothing

m sure the health & safety officer didn't .. if it's a life ban for entering the field of play, I expect the CCTV in the stadium will catch who ever was stupid enough to set something off that you would see from a ship or boat in the North Sea in distress (and then hide underneath the banner when the stewards turned up - how big was that of you!)

I also expect a press release from MFC in the not too distant future about this, I'm sure this will split the board as good as it looks it's simply not safe and one of the things that can result in a ban from the stadium (which I hope the club follow up
FFS Well done lads , good to see ✌️

I’d simply ban everyone with a seat in and around the area with it. They should be able to pinpoint whose seats were where it was at and anyone else around if they don’t give up the guilty one, two or whoever, ban them for being an accomplice. Ignorant tw@ts the lot of them, deserve to be made an example of.
Collective punishment for a few individuals committing an offence is not how we do things in England.
I`m neither condoning nor criticising the red flare "incident".
If we are going down that route, do we apply it to vaping [for instance] and individuals who use illicit drugs whilst in the ground?
Do we identify a block and eject whole rows of people because they stood near someone whom they know to have been vaping?
Just asking.
To repreat: I`m neither condoning nor criticising the red flare "incident".

If MFC choose to brush this incident under the carpet and don't release a statement it will be like an endorsement

What about the smoke inhalation issues for people with breathing disorders, suppose they don’t matter as long as people can cheer some morons on waving a flare about. What if your child was one of the little kids that’s been hospitalised by them. Would you still be as blasé? Seems you’ve just joined the im alright Jack club.
I see your point Priv and empathise -given the environment.
But more people have respiratory problems caused by carbon monoxide emissions from road vehicles, than any other single cause in the UK.
Havent seen a big cry to ban the internal combustion engine or enforce low emmission zones.
Suddenly everyone becomes a health expert and sit in moral judgement, includding collective punishment, expulsions and bans.
Anyone see where this thread appears to be going?

I wouldn't be so sure that the CCTV catches them. They set it off under the banner, didn't lift the banner until there was enough smoke to cover them, and went back under the banner at the end. I think all the CCTV will show is either smoke and a bright light, or someone in an RF hoodie who could be one of at least a dozen different people.

I think we'll all be punished. The club will be fined for the pyro and we'll probably all be denied the chance to see decent tifo displays in future as I doubt the club will be as cooperative after this incident. Plus I imagine there will be many fans who won't fancy donating towards them in future if that is how they are spending the cash.

After all the goodwill built up with the club over the years they've just widdled it away. A massive shame.
When they first started up they were creating an atmosphere in the south stand, but now the younger ones of the group act like bellends,
Yes true, this is where it becomes tricky. I certainly wouldn't want to see lifetime bans dished out, especially to hundreds of fans.

I appreciate the club wish to enforce a zero tolerance stance with regards to pyrotechnics and fans entering the pitch, but the consequences of this could actually be detrimental to the club and the rest of us. The last thing we would want to happen would be for the Red Faction to boycott the Riverside.

If Red Faction boycotted the Riverside, there would still be an atmosphere in the south stand

Well the guy with the megaphone telling them when to lift the banner was a bit of a giveaway.
You were that close?
Did you take a photo and send it to the club?
Anyone that concenred do the same?

If its that easy to take anything into the arena and people are drinking in view of the pitch and vaping enmasse, then clearly employing "Stewards" is not the way to ensure the rules are observed?
For instance, they profile people on the way in - they target young adult males, but if you start a chat or joke with them, they just smile and in you go......no patting peoples clothing or asking to see whats in your pockets.

If people believe being heavy-handed is the answer, may I suggest [in my opinion] some have made both the issue and the resolution totally disproportionate.

Who are the "younger ones" you mention ?
And who are the older ones in that case?
