Not having that. 'Bummed' was a far better Happy Mondays album and I'm not just saying that because I have a bum for a face.Id recommend pills and thrills and bellyaches, I loved this as an 18 year old..
My dog is only four and he loves the first 'Urusei Yatsura' album. He's not quite as keen on the second one though and I agree with him on that.Any sign of an under 30 to listen to all these great recommendations ?
I'm glad that someone else thinks that's the best Smiths album even though it wasn't really a proper album. The critics always go for 'The Queen is Dead' but 'Hatful of Hollow' is definitely superior. Captured the rawness and energy of the early gigs and it wasn't all glossy and overproduced because most of it was just made up of live radio sessions.Hatful of Hollow by the Smiths?
I guess it depends on the type of kid you are playing it to.
I didnt mind Happy Mondays at the time but they wouldn't be my first recommendation of all timeNot having that. 'Bummed' was a far better Happy Mondays album and I'm not just saying that because I have a bum for a face.
Wouldn't be mine either. I just think that 'Bummed' was their best album.I didnt mind Happy Mondays at the time but they wouldn't be my first recommendation of all time
Bummed was a far more 'honest' album, less polished and better for being under-produced.Not having that. 'Bummed' was a far better Happy Mondays album and I'm not just saying that because I have a bum for a face.
Funnily enough Laurie Anderson was on the radio earlier - talking about the re release of Big Science.Laurie Anderson's "Big Science", Damian Marley's "Welcome to Jamrock" and Futureheads' "Rant", with a note saying these are the same as every other type of music, but different.
When I was a teenager my mates got me into some of the older stuff, which had come from their parents, I found it a lot cooler to listen to if it was suggested by my peers than my parents.Where do you start?!!! I keep telling the teenagers that reside at Hotel Ingbar to delve into a few classic albums, I did as a teendger and found some music I still love today.
Jeff Buckley - Grace, would be my suggestion if I limit it to one album.
Totally changed the way I heard and listened to music. Still one of my all time heroines.Funnily enough Laurie Anderson was on the radio earlier - talking about the re release of Big Science.
My dad didn't have a lot of music in the house, but what he did have wasn't really worth listening to. It is hard bringing your mates round to listen to Nelson Eddy singing Rose Marie and still hold any credit. When I was a teenager my mates got me into some of the older stuff, which had come from their parents, I found it a lot cooler to listen to if it was suggested by my peers than my parents.
Saying that my dad always had house of the rising sun on in the car which I still love today. Rhinestone cowboy not so much!
