Real Madrid Bernabeu stadium £500m makeover

You’ve not been obviously.

I’ve been 6 times , and everytime I think concrete car park
For the biggest club in the world the facilities inside the ground are similar to Hartlepool. Same with Madrid, both needed huge modernisation to meet modern standards. You could say the same for most grounds in Spain though

Well done 👍🏻
why do you hope it’s a joke ?

next time, shift your eyes from the front facade 👍🏻
Because it just seems a ridiculous thing to say. I've seen some amazing matches there.

Just strange that you should say that about one of Europe's great cathedrals of football. I assumed it was a joke

Yes so have I, so have many others .
it’s not about the football, the thread is about stadiums .

and it is a **** hole in a ******** area.

and that is just a plain fact , nobody can possibly not agree .

Of course I can possibly disagree with that. Well the first part obviously. What do you expect of a stadium?

I agree

I’ve only been once to the Nou Camp. It was a sh1t hole.

View was crap and the game was a routine 3-0 home win so was boring!

You seem to have had a bad experience because the home team had a dominant win? That happened A LOT when I used to go. Didn't detract from the experience.

2017 v psg champions league semi final .
seat was atrocious price, but the game wasnt bad , atmosphere decent 😁😃

oh, and flew back with Roy Keane opposite.

there was a reason we didnt go to a bernaBOW game, but can’t quite remember
isnt it in an industrial area or something like that . The girls wanted to shop while I was at a game

What about the other matches you claim to have been to? You seem to be complaining about the price. Which makes sense as you went to a champions league semi. Hardly something you can hold against the stadium though. Have you been to league matches?

being honest, no I haven’t .
Fair enough. To be fair I think the prices there have sky rocketed too. They used to be crazy cheap compared to the equivalent premier league match. I believe that has got much worse lately though.

Not a reflection on the stadium either but I love the fact you can get beers brought to your seat!

I didnt say it was a bad experience.
Must you argue and twist peoples words for the sake of it?

It was a boring game of football. Nothing happened. They took the lead early on it was over as a contest. They won 3-0 iirc.
Unlike some I’m not into going to watching games not involving teams I support. Only went because I was in Barcelona on holiday and saw tkts were available. It was an experience. It’s not one I’d repeat in a hurry.

And I’m sorry but The ground was a **** hole

I'm not arguing for the sake of it. I'm defending something I'm fond of from people using pretty strong insults with no cause.

Can you back up that last statment? Two people have said that now and been unable to explain why. I agree, Spanish stadia aren't on a par with the Etihad's and Emirates of the premier league but I find it an amazing place visit. The sheer scale of it of course, the huge bowl. The seats aren't up to prem standards, but then again no other stadiums are.

You can be fond of something while accepting it is flawed.

The Nou Camp is dated and falls way short compared to modern stadiums. Real have accepted the stadium needed updating. Barca are well aware that their stadium needs updating and have had plans to do so for years but haven't had the €€€ to do it. Looks like they are are having another push with a €1.3 billion update.

Real and Barca are European Superclubs, their stadiums did/don't reflect that anymore, especially with Athletico having the new stadium.

Agreed, and this is a sensible post. I think I more took exception to the voracity and nastiness of how the other people on here described it. You can state something is flawed without making such an inflammatory, over the top comment as those two did.

The camp nou "remodel" has been talked about for so long now I wonder if it'll ever happen. It's 15 years since I used to go there and I remember all the foster and sons drawings of the proposed upgrade that just went nowhere.
