Real Madrid …..

Talk about petulant spoilt kids.

Boycotting the Bd’O ceremony is fine … if that’s what you want, then go for it, despite your other players and manager picking up awards - but the statement released by the club and then by Vini Jr it just screams of sore losers.

Also complete disrespect to Rodri. For instance Vini Jr, by all means issue a disgruntled tweet, but surely you still congratulate your fellow professional on winning at very least.

Anyway sums up the club!

It is really pathetic. I can see why they got on so well with Ronaldo. This is up there with Yaya Toure leaving Man City because they didn't get him a birthday cake.

It's not even like it is a huge injustice. It was a marginal decision that has gone one way instead of the other. It's a vote and there will have been people who's votes were split between and people that vote for a Madrid player will split their vote between Vini/Bellingham and Carvajal where Rodri probably gets voted ahead of Foden/Haaland by the majority, especially with his Euros success etc. They all had great years but winning an international trophy often overshadows a club trophy and there is less vote splitting for Rodri.

It seems that a lot of the players who go there end up with the same attitude of arrogant, petulant, entitlement. It's been a shame to see the change in Bellingham, who came across as a nice enough lad when in Germany, but appears to be going that way now.

I just read that in the last 18 months Rodri has won;

2 premier league titles
FA Cup
UEFA Super Cup
Club World Cup
Nations League
Euro 2024

Can’t really argue with that 😂

It’s not a great look for Real Madrid for sure and I can’t help but think there is more to it.

There have been other years where their players have not won it and they have not behaved this way. I just think it’s all political and linked to an ongoing feud with uefa and they are using it as more fuel to the fire in their push to get a super league up and running.

The Balon D’or has been getting criticism for a while now and this will just add to people not really taking it as seriously as they once did. Which is want Madrid will want.

Sad times for football.

The more time goes on and the way football seems to be going, I’m starting to think all these teams buggering off to a Super League wouldn’t be such a bad thing.
Short term, painful. A lot of money will go out of the game leaving a huge financial hole for a lot of clubs.

Long term, I'm a fan. Surely make the top division more competitive, like a Championship #2.

Players wages will have to come down, no bad thing.

For those not ars*d about the PL and their galacticos it will be good. For those that are, they can buy their Euro Super Liga subscription for £50 month.

They're a scummy club.

Hopefully they win f**k all this season.

La Liga is looking like it'll go to Barcelona.

Lets hope they get humbled in the Champions League.
