I think there's zero chance we were paying the lad anywhere near that, in fact some media outlets were suggesting it was a fraction of that.

Which is a good thing because he didn't live up to expectations.

I would be pretty confident that we were paying that. It's less than £1m for a half season. I wouldn't be too shocked if there was a loan fee on top of that.

I agree with others though. If we are taking him on loan and paying big wages for it then we need him to be a starter. We can't afford that for a back-up.

I'd have him back, as think with a full pre-season under him he'd do well.

The problem we have is that none of our strikers will start and play every week, and I think he'd need to.

Don't think we got the best out of him, the sort of player that should have been a season long loan rather than a short term deal as needed time to get up to speed. Wrong player wrong time, will probably go on to be a top player and cite his experience with us as a major part of his development!
