Front page attack by the Daily Fail today.

By a newspaper (😳😳) whose owner doesn't pay a penny in tax.

Couldn't make it up. Stench of desperation is getting worse day by day for the Tories.

Things for Labour to do Day 1

#1 - Leveson Enquiry 2, just after the fully unredacted Russia Report is published 👍

They had 'Beergate' for about 15 days in a row as their main headline
The 'paper' that has been helping the electorate decide since the 'Zinoviev letter' in the 1930's and beyond that too.....

The print media should be covered by the same non-partisan rules that rightly handcuffs the BBC. No naked campaigning on behalf of any political party. The whole sector needs to be overseen by an independent watchdog and the law needs changing to enable public prosecutions for transgressions, with real penalties - jail time for owners/senior executives, rather than petty fines.

I’m old enough to remember the days of the BBC being non partisan

Kuensberg, Bruce, Gibb and Katy Searle jaxied that years ago

It would be nice - because of the innate bias - but it will never happen. If we can hold the line with regard to the broadcast media, I'll take that. Obviously, the Right wants to 'free up' that too because its supporters tend to be those in the position to buy or launch wide-reach media titles. Hopefully, Starmer will set up some sort of semi-permanent independent body for that purpose. I don't think Ofcom has the teeth or the cachet needed to face down major vested interests. its remit is too wide. It needs to be a body set up under parliamentary aegis, with statutory duties and powers, similar to the OBR.

Some people in the right wing media must hate this country (oh, the irony!).

Anybody who wants to continue to support this current shower, can only be in for self gain.

In the 13-14 years The Tories have been in power, I can’t think of ONE thing that has made this country better or improved the lives of its citizens.

Totally appreciate that Labour will not wave a magic wand and fix things overnight (or even in one term) but the Tories of track record of delivery in recent years has been appalling.

Obviously, majorly handicapped by the fact they’re Jam packed with loads of Brexit Morons who can only deliver a slogan rather any policies of any meaning or value.

tax avoidance is a crime no mater what your political standings . If there a case for investigation then let the process be completed before the shouting
There was a process followed after a Tory asked the police to investigate, and just like the non-existent 'Beergate' a Tory has gone back to the police demanding it be reinvestigated after they didn't produce the 'right result' first time around
And also like 'Beergate' while this is reinvestigated the Mail has its front page day after day trying to influence the investigation and the public perception of the 'story'

This is exactly what people need to remember. It’s not about ideology. The Tories have been dreadful and deserved annihilation in the election.

Even if you’ve voted Tory previously, sit and think about how bad they have been. It has just got worse and worse.

Agree, the shithousery of political manipulation is clear and if the law enforcing powers deem the investigation is complete then it is finished ... lets see what happens

Reported in the Guardian, that the Tory policy on non Dom status, is full of loopholes and could benefit the PM's family to the amount of £250M

No wonder the ginger growler is saying bring it on.

It's hiprocracy but the tories and their supporting press don't seem to understand that pointing out raynor comes from a council estate is seen as an overall benefit by many voters.

This, of course, ignores the comparative scale of confirmed tory v possible Labour tax dodging. Didn't hunt forget to pay stamp duty on 5 houses to name just one tax scandal.
