Raheem Sterling's goal equals George Camsell's record

The goal for Raheem Sterling last night gives him 18 goals for England, equal to our great George Camsell.
Sterlings goal's came from 69 games.
Georges goal's came from 9 games, still the best goals to games ratio of any England player.

Also puts Harry Kane on 39 goals, 14 behind Wayne Rooneys record of 53.
Think at 28 years old he should (hopefully) go on to break the record.

Kane could have had another 3 last night. He would also be expected to get a bag full against Andorra, but think Gareth will make full changes and rest the first eleven.

Will never be beaten
Not sure how many games you have to play before the goals/games ratio is calculated.
Kieran Richardson scored 2 on his debut so could have equaled the record briefly?
What if Bamford scores a hat trick on Sunday and never plays again?

Luther Blissett (miss it Blissitt) scored a hattrick on his debut for England v Luxembourg.

That's happened with 5 players already.

Albert Allen, Frank Bradshaw, John Veitch, John Yates and William Gilliat all scored hat tricks on their debuts and didn't play again.

It's calculated from players who have made 2 or more appearances.

I'd say the end of your career is when you calculate it. I guess if someone scores a debut hattrick then shatters their knee, they could beat it....hope not though

Kane's chances of breaking the record depend on how long he plays. I think Shearer walked away at 29/30.

Mind you, Kane probably has a better chance of winning something for his country than his club.

Kane only needs 14 goals to break it, I wouldn't be surprised if he'd broken it before the next Euros.
He could probably do it before the World Cup if he plays against Andorra and San Marino.

He hasn't equalled George Camsells record, yes he's scored the same amount of goals but over 50 odd games more

Even at a good rate, you're probably looking at 25 matches to do that.

My point was that he might retire after the WC. I don't really think he will, but others have.

You never know what’s round the corner you think a player has loads of time then he gets an injury abs things don’t do to plan . Like Owen .

Imagine telling Ronaldo he’s not playing against Andorra.

Kane can’t be happy getting rested for these games.
