"Portsmouth Football Club are aware of images circulating on social media that allegedly originate from an academy u18 group chat and which are discriminatory in nature.

The club have launched an immediate investigation and will provide an update once this has been completed.

Portsmouth Football Club strongly condemn racism and are totally committed to the elimination of all forms of discrimination. There is no place for it in our game or society as a whole"

Disgusting if true

Saw this earlier on and one of their apologies was equally as ridiculous if true. Something along the lines of "I wasn't in the right mindset, I shouldn't have been on social media".

I was banned for a day then a week for “ Hatefull conduct “.
I had no idea what I’d done turns out the monkey emoji is an instant ban if a footballer is in the convo . Would be handy if Twitter actually told you that .
I often use a monkey emoji

How can facebook, twitter, Instagram etc all know when you want to buy a pink hoody with an owl on the very second you've thought of it.. but they have no clue when racist content is being posted? Weird that isn't it.

I think racism gets talked about too much imo I thought we were doing ok previously. You can’t just flick a switch and change society it’s a gradual thing .

I missed the image because I was doing an IATA Class 7 Dangerous Goods workshop sheet, but I assume from the reaction it was bad.

Well someone flicked a switch 5 years ago and the very next day racism started openly happening in public, so I'm not sure I agree entirely with that.

How much is enough for racism to get talked about for you?
