Race red flagged

They should continue after the course has been cleared of the debris from the crashes. But what a race the parts I have been able to follow due to the fact I keep losing the satellite signal due to the rain

Did you see the F2 Sprint Race? Horrible crash in the spray, ending up with one car on top of his teammate. They can't race blind

For the rain

They just won’t race in the wet will they.
The performance gap between wets & inters is so great that people won't put wets on until the rain is so heavy that there's standing water on the track. If the rain is that heavy, there's no visibility & so a red flag is likely.

They need a fast wet / inter plus as part of the interest in F1 is during changing conditions people gambling and putting on the wrong tyre that suddenly becomes the right tyre.

I've given up watching F1 since the powers that be decided to gift Max a title before Red Bull went on to dominate on a scale never seen before. The competitive aspect of this season ended months ago and now it's just a question of who finishes third over the last 9 races. What's the point?

If you take Max's results out of the equation it is an incredibly exciting championship, 5 different winners, 11 different drivers on the podium etc.

I agree it’s dull and red bull are making it a farce but let’s no rewrite history how many 1-2 shutouts did the mercs have

If Lewis didn’t Win then nico did then valteri so this is nothing new.

Mercedes was the dominant force in Formula 1 between 2014 and 2016, winning three consecutive constructor championships during this period. The team was able to secure an impressive 51 wins out of 59 races, a success rate of nearly 86%

It is new though. Red Bull are going to win every race of the season and Max will win the title earlier than any other driver before. There's literally no chance of anyone getting close to him in a race unless he suffers mechanical failure - he could start in the pit lane and still cruise to victory.

At the start of the turbo hybrid era, Mercedes had a huge advantage and won 16 out of 19 races in 2014. Yet there was still a battle between team mates. Rosberg led the Championship after 13 races and Hamilton didn't win the title until the final race.

Mercedes also won 16 out of 19 in 2015 and were even more dominant in 2016 when they won all bar 2 races. Yet that Championship also went to the last race when Rosberg pipped Hamilton for the title.

So even in 3 seasons of dominance, they were occasionally beatable and delivered 3 tight title races by giving team mates equal treatment. That's not what we are witnessing in this Red Bull era.

After the first 3 years, Mercedes still had a great car, but it wasn't the only fast car on the grid. In 2017 Merc won 12 out of 20 races. The following season they won 11 out of 21. In 2019 it was 15 out of 21. In 2020 it was 13 out of 17. Finally, in 2021 when Hamilton was robbed of the Championship, it was 9 out of 22.

I'm not looking it up & so happy to be shown I'm wrong but I don't think Lewis was as dominant as Max is, it always felt as though there was threat from a team mate or a Red Bull or a Ferrari and it took until the last race or so to seal victory in the championship.

Perez is leading the pack of also rans but he's 0.5-1.0 seconds a lap slower than Max and so there is no threat to Max's domination from any direction. Add in that the cars aren't as unreliable as they used to be and as already discussed weather & tyres have been neutralised to extent, no speeding in the pit lane and no refueling, even DRS has made overtaking boring & safe, and with the propensity for more yellows, safety cars & red flags neutralising the race, all the old staples that shook things up and introduced an element of chance and risk of failure into yet another a dominant display by the dominant team & driver(s) have been stripped from F1.

With Lewis and Nico you had two top class drivers who provided so many memorable moments, it was only the second half of 19 and 20 that Hamilton dominated to this extent, Ferrari matched them the rest of the time with an illegal car.

Difference now is Perez is a poor driver who won’t get within 20 seconds a lap of Max, a RB 1-2 won’t ever be a competitive race

Thank you for confirming my recollection! :)
