The questions are gonna remain the same.

Result: happy/disappointed
Last game: what/why
Updates: injuries/officials
Next game: preparation/approach
Dafties: superstitious/tenuous links
Result: happy/disappointed
of course disappointed but we had some good moments.

Last game: what/why
can’t fault the lads for trying, we tried a few things and they didn’t work out. when we conceded the 2nd goal we were left chasing the game

Updates: injuries/officials
a few decisions went against us, but that is the same for all teams and we just have to live with it and move onto the next game. take our chances when we can.

Next game: preparation/approach
nothing changes, we stick to plane and hopefully get the result we want

Dafties: superstitious/tenuous links
no, I’m not.. it isn’t.. it doesn’t effect us and I have nothing to say on matters that do not concern this club.

Why are we such a lopsided team?

When the short passes into central midfield clearly aren’t working and are putting us under pressure, how do you instruct the players to work around the problem?

Why do we consistently struggle to break down teams that come to the Riverside, sit in and frustrate us before almost inevitably taking the lead?

How can things that have been happening since the start of last season still be happening after two transfer windows and the highest net-spend in the division?
There is absolutely no way any of those questions will be asked, because the press asking the questions are as wet as an otters pocket.

No one ever puts Carrick under scrutiny in the press conferences, when sometimes he should be asked the 'horrible' questions.

Hi Michael, Leeds on Tuesday night was a tough game wasn't it Michael, they're a good team aren't they Michael? Do you think they'll go up? Michael?? So obviously, you'll be looking to put that right this weekend against Millwall won't you Michael?

Why are we such a lopsided team?
We have one fit left back and a superstar prodigy on the right wing

This happened against Leeds and when we tried to go long they intercepted well and broke quickly on the counter.
Why do we consistently struggle to break down teams that come to the Riverside, sit in and frustrate us before almost inevitably taking the lead?
We play an attacking expansive game with various presses. Inevitable teams who come to the Riverside express this and come to stifle us and defend. In times where we have conceded like you have said it can be a case of simplicity is genuis.. no matter how complex of a system we set up or how imaginative our attacking patterns and presses may be.. it only takes one well placed long ball or a speculative shot from distance do undue all of our hard work.
How can things that have been happening since the start of last season still be happening after two transfer windows and the highest net-spend in the division?
Transfer spends to not make players invulnerable from injury. We may have the highest net spend.. but I imagine that we may have the highest net injury list too.

What price would you put on having a fit Smith, Fry, RVDB, Lenihan, Engel, Bangura, Morris & Forss in the squad to chose from?

I do think it would be entirely reasonable to ask why there is so much reluctance to change the approach or system regardless of game state. I think its fairly obvious that there have been games recently that have been crying out for a slight tweak in approach mid game but it never happens. I get he he has a preferred style of play, and that is not an issue, but the best coaches are adaptable during a 90 minutes and know when something isn't working.

no matter what system you have.. you still need to have the players to play that system.

lets say we had chosen to play a back three against Leeds.. with all of our fit available centre backs and midfielders.. we don't have any other wingbacks to look for. What happend if we want or need to make a sub?

Watching the press conference now. My connection isn't great...Is it just me who thinks Carrick looks like he's had a boot thrown at him?

I'm not talking about ripping it up and starting again. I'm talking about shutting up shop and taking a point at the toughest away game in the league. It stood out miles on Tuesday that they were getting back on top not long before their second goal, so why not bring on an extra midfielder, tell the full backs to sit in and get the wide men to give them more protection? We would all have taken a point on Tuesday, but by the time he made changes, like for like, again, we were chasing the game again and it was ideal for them to pick us off on the break with their fresh attackers that they brought on at the right time. We will have a massive problem in the new year unless this changes cos 3/4 of our first team will be exhausted from playing the vast majority of every game every single week. Doak, who has never played senior football regularly, will be dead on his feet soon. Hackney and Barlaser already look tired, Azaz is probably not far behind.

well the first question is there is perception you don't react to changes in games. is that fair comment?
Carrick - No
Reporter - back tracks oh its social media
Carrick - don't read social media
reporter - oh good advice.

well that clears that up

It worked away at Leicester last season, pretty much the only time I can remember Carrick doing something different.

Short and not very sweet that one.

Riley has a chest infection.

Others are now ill too.

He doesn't seem bothered/worried about our ability to turn games round.

No way is Riley unavailable for Saturday.

I'd have never have guessed.
play the neighbour theme tune and slap a tub of vegemite on his asre and he'll be right as rain.. he just needs an aussie recharge.. cans of xxxx and a bit of crocodile dundee

He got asked about being lopsided with our attacks too, Carrick cleared it up though, we target all areas of the pitch and don’t just favour the right.

All sorted, nothing to see here. He looked miffed when asked about reacting to changes in games. Clearly the journo’s were a little braver today 😂
