QPR vs Sheff United Match Thread

No I don't but still hope we can get there and see what happens.
I could be wrong but if the impossible happened and we go up then surely we must be the team with the lowest points to do it through the playoffs.
IF we went up then we know now exactly how many points we'd have acquired; 73.

I know sides have qualified for the playoffs with less, but I'd have to check if any of them went up as well.

Since the Championship began in 2004, 6 of the 17 seasons have seen a 6th placed team qualifying with 73 points or less.

There have been seasons where 73 points would have been enough for 4th.

Edit - Sorry, misread the question, it was promotion not just making the play-offs.
Not sure on that.

You would think Boro just got beat the reaction on here. Win tomorrow and Fulham beat Luton and Monday it’s still possible we can over take 2 teams on the last day. It’s a great position to be in and if it doesn’t happen then so be it but I would still prefer to take it to last day rather than throw the towel in now
Just realised if Luton beat Fulham, and Bournemouth win tomorrow, then Fulham might have to win against Sheffield United to win the league, obviously doesn’t matter if we don’t win tomorrow mind.

Clutching maybe 😂

Leicester hold that title. They went up through the playoffs after finishing 5th, with 71 points in 95/96.

Wilder has to set the side up to win by 4 or more goals tomorrow. Have to go all out attack and get biggest win the season in my view Stoke have nothing to play for won't be caring

Win by 4 goals is a bit optimistic
We aren’t beating Stoke by 4 goals. When did we last beat anyone by 4 goals.
Why do we have to beat anyone by 4 goals?

Sheffield have one game left..
Win 75 points - playoffs
Draw 73 points goal difference +14
Lose 72 points

Middlesbrough have TWO GAMES left which we need win to gain a total of 73 points

Our goal difference is currently +10

Two games to make up a difference of 4 goals.. IF Sheffield draw against Fulham.

It’s not going to be a draw imo.

The goal difference we need to reach is 5 though due to Sheffield United scoring more and better head to head. Be easier to get a 3 nil win at Riverside than at Preston

Surely if we beat Stoke and Preston by 2-0 and even if Sheff Utd only lose 1-0 to Fulham, then we are in the play off’s??

If Sheff Utd lose (or Luton lose their last 2) and we beat Stoke and Preston - goal difference won't come in to it as they'll be on 72 points and Boro will be on 73

Still all to play for right now, so I hope people aren't too despondent at the match.

Even ignoring the promise of promotion, I really hope we win tomorrow because it's a fair trek to Preston with nothing riding on it.
