In a roundabout way: Lucille Ball invented teleporting.

Her company: Desilu productions produced star wars. They "invented" teleportation as they didn't have the budget to film landings of the starship enterprise on the various planets they had so it was a cheap way of getting people off the ship.

Oh dear me where do we start with this. Desilu productions where the production company used for Star Wars. They didn’t invent teleportation and neither did the creator and producer of Star Trek, Gene Roddenberry. Teleportation in literature featured a century before Star Trek and on screen The Fly predates Star Trek
