So Ray Mallon has a finger in the Freeport pie. That figures
Personally, I’ve never thought Steve Gibson was “nice”. We see and hear very little from him and when we do it’s usually fairly irritable stuff, or just downright inaccurate (like the Stockton/Sunderland thing) or even mildly aggressive. Doesn’t surprise me that behind closed doors he can be worse. This is not new. It was first reported on about a month or six weeks ago.
The detail wasn't quite so graphic but there was enough to realise that Mr Gibson wasn't quite as nice as everybody had always thought.
I suppose its just another example of the maxim that if you lie down with sh1t, you'll end up smelling of it.
Love the response quoted from Mr Calje. 'That was incredibly constructive. I get the gist of what you said Steve'. Aka now you fcuk off!
Noticeable that he has now got out of his association with Lord Bent of High Leverage.

Ben Houchen: A full investigation into all his accounts dealing with every corporation.chng.it
Very true, the health of our people, our environment, our local ecology has always been a victim of the wealth creation by people who lived in leafy, bucolic, isolated splendour. That is why places like Teesside exist.that took place at the same time as the polluting, between 100 and 150 years ago.
I like the "of High Leverage" addition, but I'm thinking of acquiring the rights to the creation of the Ben. T pseudonym and I'll be charging you all a gazillion quid to use it in the future and if you refuse to pay, I'll ask Gove to set up a truly independent inquiry, to properly protect my intellectual rights and if that fails I'll slap a SLAPP on you all. As an aside, I've never though Gibson was nice, didn't he sack a couple of his employees for going to Eindhoven whilst supposedly on the sick. This is not new. It was first reported on about a month or six weeks ago.

BUT
He is absolutely small time in the pool of super rich, knobhead candidates who could own our football club (or any fairly large football club).
Not disagreeing that it’s low but if you take some of the Arab owners, they believe in death by stoning of gay people and advocate laws along these lines, it’s not just the sport washing that’s bad. The sports washing is a PR exercise to paper over all that stuff. Is SG lower than that? You could argue he is worse.
The Arab nations pile money into their football communities to sportswash..
If Gibson is complicit in ripping off the community that his football club serve (and he once did as a labour councillor) then I would say that is pretty low.

I just read the article, he really doesn't come across well. So incredibly disappointing if true.Gibson rippling off the people of Teesside, if true, is despicable.
Feels like a close family member stealing from you.
Prob best not to get into comparing what is worse.
Ben won't resign. He should resign as soon as he gets his lordship officially on the 24th of July (co-incidentally, Gove's "independent" investigation is due to conclude before then...) but his ego will absolutely not allow him to.Until Lord Bent resigns this is just going to get murkier and murkier. Gove’s friendly investigation is going nowhere but Tory backers and crooks are getting richer and richer. That the people of Teesside simply don’t care and are totally apathetic about such massive corruption is both shocking and depressing in equal measures.
It's a good point. The "investigation" drags it's feet, giving Houchen and chums more time to pillage the site (scrap, demo costs etc) and get the money moved out of the country - never to be seen again.Until Lord Bent resigns this is just going to get murkier and murkier.
