Priti Patel!!

Are you putting your faith in the Home Office and DWP implementing policies and procedures in even a competent way let alone not in a frankly disgusting, punitive and nasty way?

At the moment yes I know what the policy is. If that changes then will see then. I can’t link guidance direct from government computers unless you have access. It sounds like you basically don’t believe it unless you can see it

It’s not a question of believing it. If it’s not publicly available and it’s not included in any publicly available information I’ve seen then it’s simply worthless and can be changed, ignored or overturned at will and without any reason or justification. There is absolutely no commitment legal or otherwise to it.

How has the policy on settled status working out for Eu citizens?

Or universal credit?

implemented humanely and competently?

Cooper, I think the point Adi is very effectively making is that there is nothing in the public domain which precludes or prevents a government dominated by the likes of Cummings and Patel introducing a rule that you have to relocate for work or lose your benefits. On yer bike and all that.

I agree with that and my point is there is nothing at this moment in time in public domain or within government instructions that I can access that says that either. Until there is the 90 minute policy stands as such. There is reference to it in parliament sites if you want to go through the whole of it.

If that policy was ever introduced I would be fully against it

The 90 minute policy doesn’t stand. It doesn’t exist publicly and there is therefore no commitment to it and nothing that binds any government department to it. Given the statements made by the Home Secretary as to how the gap left by deported immigrants will be plugged there is only one logical conclusion that can possibly be drawn. That gets us back to where we started in this discussion. It is a sinister policy that will cause nothing but damage to people’s lives and do nothing to improve anyone’s employment prospects. Social care, the NHS and a number of other industries will be severely damaged too. All for what?

It does exist a work coach can not as it stands ask someone to travel over 90 mins. It’s not in the public domain and yes can be changed but at the moment they can’t. If I was a work coach I could as it stood ask them to go further than 90 mins given the guidance

I agree that if that changed it would be pathetic I don’t disagree with that.

Bit different to 48 weeks a year and 5 days a week. And then 90 minutes home.

I think 90 mins walking is abit extreme I agree. I used to do 60 mins walking and 20 train. Each way. If I was being paid though think I’d invest in a bus pass

As I said it’s worthless. Not worth the paper it’s not written on.
