Post brexit should Britain go back to Imperial units?

One for the brexit voters- now we are less than one month away from "freedom" do you think the UK is not going the whole hog by continued use of the French system?
We need full control... Say no to litres
Do you want to go back to £ S and D too?

Nah of course we won't. Old foges that make up the majority of this site may like the idea but the youngsters have grown up to new measurements
It’s alright you saying that but when I was a kid and you went to the slot machines on holiday at Blackpool, you used to get 12 goes for a shilling. After we went decimal I got 5 goes for the replacement 5 new pence.

I noticed the diminution of money in my life straight away, even at the age of 10.

I remember for a good few years after decimalisation Stokesley Fair used to run a few slot machines on the old pennies.

One old pound equalled 240 old pence.

And thus started the reduction in value of the money in your pocket.

Don‘t they reckon the rounding up under decimalisation cost the consumer a good few per cent?

Bit like the Russians when there changed the calendar

Mars ....
Then there was the Air Canada jet that nearly crashed because of it. A disaster was only averted because the copilot happened to know of a disused airfield that was within gliding distance when it ran out of fuel.
Air Canada said yesterday that its Boeing 767 jet ran out of fuel in midflight last week because of two mistakes in figuring the fuel supply of the airline's first aircraft to use metric measurements.

Jet's fuel ran out after metric conversion error

Imperial never use it for any mechanical, electrical or measuring at work purposes although I do come across the odd thing now and then. I used to use BSW(generally oversize) and AF as well as metric when I first started work, and also on some of the projects on old Fords and BL stuff its AF, I still have the spanners for.

All the European and Jap stuff was metric.

Still use peoples weight and height from imperial, same with beer, petrol and oil, they will always be a pint or gallon.
Most other things I look at the litre and millilitre content for a guide.
I do use the odd term in money like 10 bob or thirty bob,and find it hard to shake these terms off.
Its a bit strange when I think of say butter, its in half pounds or Potatoes its 5 pound bags, I suppose its like the height weight thing its just how it looks really to me.

Going back wont happen as the young uns have never used it and it wont be of any use to them at all.

I think my generation are the in-betweeners in decimalisation/imperial.
