Police Brutality

so the local MP was on bbc this morning appealing for calm and said the family have been in contact and do not want to cause disturbance.

The "lawyer" is now calling this and attempted assassination.
The reaction by those involved, and particularly their lawyer, is laughable really.

The actions by some of the police officers were wrong, on face value at least, but they have to run into situations that most people would run away from.

That doesn't condone the excessive use of force, but it's easy to sit in the comfort and safety of your own home hamming out your disgust on a keyboard, but the reality is that human beings don't always act rationally when they're scared, angry and the adrenaline is pumping, police officers included, because they are human being and fallible too.

No amount of training prevents you from the emotions that we all feel when in danger.

Solicitor in this case has a chequered history.
An Independent candidate standing in the general election has apologised after remarks he made about women were labelled “misogynistic” and “disturbing”.
Akhmed Yakoob made the comments during the recording of a podcast called Minted Minds, while appearing alongside the host and four other guests.
The Muslim Women’s Network has condemned the “deeply disturbing” statements and urged parliamentary candidates to commit to improving the safety of women in all communities.
Mr Yakoob, who is hoping to represent Ladywood in Birmingham, has said he is "mortified" and "the tone of that discussion represents everything I stand against".
The two-hour podcast episode aired in March, hosted by Birmingham-based business owner Abdhul Zaman, brought together voices from across the city to discuss Palestine and the Israel-Gaza war.
However, the conversation between Mr Yakoob, Hall Green Independent candidate Shakeel Afsar, Dr Asif Munaf, Coventry-based restaurant owners Mohammed “Sunny” Sarnwal and Waqas “Vic” Mohammed veered onto the topic of masculinity and women.
When Dr Munaf suggested that followers of Dajjaal – a false messiah in Islam – would be women who had been “empowered”, Mr Yakoob responded with: “70% of hell is going to be women”.
While discussing their perceptions of gender roles, the criminal law solicitor said: “I’ve got nothing against women, I love women, I love my wife.
"But everyone has got a role in society, everyone has got a role in the household. In my household, I’m the man, I’m the king. I call the shots, and my Mrs, Alhamdulillah, listens to me and is appreciative.

I am being naive I bet you they started the ones who were arrested. I bet it comes out that 1 or both of them have multiple convictions and are well known to the police. I do take on board what people are saying it was over the top as we do not see this everyday, The officer has or seems to have lost control but i bet that same officer has done more good and helped more people than most on here ever will. Their is people saying jail him take his livelihood away. This i do not agree with the man is only human and you can train all you want but till you deal with scum on a day to day basis we will never know what its like to have to deal with these type of people who cause trouble and cry like babies when they get a bit of rough justice back
We need to let the investigation take its course before jumping to any conclusions. I don’t think it’s fair to label people as scum when we know nothing about them or the circumstances.

The video of police using Pava Spray on a bloke just standing there recording on his phone is also not a good look and not proportionate.

Having a high profile misogynist as a solicitor in a case where it’s alleged you’ve broken the nose of a female police officer.
Can you spot the issue there or do you need me to highlight it again?

He’s free to choose his own legal representation, that’s the system. It wouldn’t be needed if a Police Officer hadn’t acted so violently.

Yes but stop excusing it. It’s literally his job to stay cool, particularly as an armed officer. He is emotionally incapable of the job.

What reaction has there been from the victim that is laughable?

It’s just the lawyer that’s been an ass, and he’s a lawyer did you expect any different?
Lawyers only act on instructions and are their actions are absolutely within their clients wishes.

Aside from that, posting videos on social media to "announce" they were on their way to the police station to make a complaint isn't the most dignified way to conduct yourself.

I'm not excusing it, I make that clear.

My point, to repeat it, is that people are fallible and sometimes emotions make them do stupid things. No amount of training can overcome the emotions of fear, or anger, for example. It's instinctive.

Have you ever done something on the heat of the moment you later regret, I'm sure you have?
