Luton's stadium couldn't handle VAR last season, so probably not.

Slight aside, but I thought the ref yesterday was excellent. He didn't buy any dives from either side and let the game flow really well.

Some of the challenges would 9/10 have resulted in a free kick these days, but he reffed the game like a 90's game in allowing tackles and challenges.

The ref and the linesman didn’t give the blatant pass back inside the 6 yard box in the second half. Both had a perfect view of it. One of their defenders went down with some sort of head injury. Apart from that the ref had a decent game.

the same lino let Jones get continuously fouled to the point the lad was getting a piggyback ride.... what happened???? Jones got a yellow card too

Ref was good, the lino down the West Stand less so, he was having real trouble keeping up with play and some of his "offside" decisions were at best guesses.

I actually thought Jones kicked out at him, if it's the incident in the second half I'm thinking of?

Lucky to stay on, the officials can't have seen it.

Not a bad game over all for the officials but he blew too quickly for a Boro free kick outside their box when it led to a freak but perfectly legit
o.g. If he’d have waited a few seconds it’d be 2 1. 3 big decisions against us thankfully in nothing games. We’re may be due one for us soon fingers crossed

That incident with Jones was right in front of us. Didn’t see Jones kick out at him so can’t have happened. The Coventry player should have been sent off though.

100% happened with jones and he was lucky not to be sent off. Ref also missed penalty on Akpom too.

I'm annoyed about the backpass. It seems to be one of those rules the officials don't actually want to apply and will just ignore to try and avoid controversy. Like the six-second rule.

We have a better record with Coote than Madley.
Madley did ref the 2-1 win v Swansea last August sending one of their players off late on.

Both relatively competent refs as far as I can recall.

Is Bobby the Madley that went on an unpaid sabbatical for a while for some reason or was that his brother?

The refs will be important in the play off matches, Huddersfield were badly robbed v Forest last season.
