I’ve actually seen somebody holding up an iPad, for practically the whole set, at Download festival. Should be a crime on the grounds of copyright?

Wah???!!!1This is everywhere now, there was a video on the news showing the first people going on the Victoria line and every single person was holding a phone up to record.

In reality artists never enforce them if they are used for personal use only. Putting them up on social media they may take a dim view but rarely do so.
But surely if they are recording whilst holding their phone in the air they are still watching with their actual eyes at the same time? And not viewing through the screen.I suppose filming the odd clip is ok, but I don’t understand those people who film massive chunks. Why not just watch the actual act with your actual eyes and enjoy them performing in the moment, instead of trying to view through a phone screen and record it, when likelihood is you’ll never actually bother watching it back?!
This is it. I recorded a bit of its a sin when the lasers on stage went beserk in time with the music, and sent it to my brother and a couple of mates, but I’m frankly amazed at the number of dreadful quality videos that get posted on YouTube like the one I posted above. I’m even more amazed that people watch them.Im not against the idea of a 30 second “memory” video or to Tweet/WatsApp to show friends. Just not the whole f’kin thing! Enjoy the moment FFS.
Love the idea of somebody getting chucked out because of it.
Guilty as charged!6 foot 8 giants who happen to choose to stand right in front of you
At the last Glasto I was stopped late at night be a group of people convinced I was Neil Tenant.Looking forward to seeing them at Glastonbury again.
Another thing I don’t get.I've only once in my life held up my phone to record something at a live event. It was a Boro game and I happened to be directly behind the goal when we got a penalty, so I thought "why not" and started recording. We missed the pen and I considered that to be karma for my foolish actions.
He’s a posh Geordie isn’t he?At the last Glasto I was stopped late at night be a group of people convinced I was Neil Tenant.
We’d all had a bit of a drink and I proudly played it up pleading for anonymity. They took a selfie and politely moved on.
Suspect they were told drunk to notice Neil’s Teesside twang
I seem to be a magnet for the above.Annoying things seen or heard at gigs.
1. People filming the set constantly and holding their phones and tablets up in front of you
2. Girls on the shoulders of their boyfriend/partners in front of you
3. 6 foot 8 giants who happen to choose to stand right in front of you
4. People who talk loudly constantly through the show even on the quieter numbers unrelated to the gig.
5. Beer chuckers
6. Pukers
Bit harsh to call them daft just because you don't get it. Each to their own.Another thing I don’t get.
Daft kids behind the goal recording chants and putting them on YouTube.
I was guilty of recording Pigbag at the Chelsea quarter final but I pointed the phone at the teams lining up and the we are the Boro boys display behind the goal!!!
