In 2016 all of the Republican candidates to lead the most powerful country in the world denied that we excisted because of evolution. Their "christian" beliefs overode science......as it is now apparently.

I struggle with the concept that these people are so inherently stupid, all of them?

You don't trust them because you don't understand how they work.
