Pen pals

Used to be a thing, and of course, you don’t need pen and paper anymore. I met a (local) guy on a beach in the Galapagos, and we chatted for ages. He wanted to improve his English. We’ve since shared WhatsApp messages, and I sent him a parcel with some books/newspapers/flags/Boro memorabilia. He supports Universitario in Quito. He works on the tourist boats, on the islands, and sends me pics every week or so.
I love how human beings connect with human beings. He’s a friend for life, I hope.

He looks like a nice bloke, I’m very impressed that a Seal can use WhatsApp.
