Pelosi delivers UK another trade deal warning

Had they had any intention or any hope of delivering what was promised I'd agree it should have been respected. Or had they had the integrity to say actually we do intend to leave the Single Market and all the other programmes and spelt out what that meant, I'd agree with you too.

But respecting a massive dishonest con is not upholding democracy, it is the very opposite. It's too late now to do much about it, but it is high time you admitted to yourself you are the victim of a con.

Not getting into the whole Brexit debate again but as you know, I wasn’t “conned” I didn’t care who “won” if it had been remain I would have woke up next day and got on with my life (I actually went to Prague). I voted leave as a protest vote against the government.

Its emotive and I know you feel passionately about it. I felt that if the vote wasn’t upheld trust in politics in this country would have been lost for a generation, if not more. Most of the public don’t trust politicians as it is. To renegade on a vote by the people would have convinced most that their thought were correct.

I know you see it from the other side but need to take into account how it would have to looked to all those (the majority) who voted leave. Hence why so many switched to Tory at the last election, like myself.

Accepting it’s happening and accepting people who voted leave is the only way labour will get near an election victory too. It’s high tide this is remembered

Like it how the admin section of my post is cut out originally. I kept updating how long it took to post, over 20 attempts... ridiculous. Pathetic how admin can’t even answer.

Oh now I have to wait 200 seconds to post this one 🙄

A handful of Tory ministers are destroying the standing of Britain around the world, killing democracy but getting brexit done which is the fkn madness....lot of worried people trading with Europe now,and the £ has slumped.....
Yesssss - wondered how long it would be before the pound slumps quote would come. Got to love it

" I voted leave as a protest vote against the government" .... oh dear.

I don't see the internal trade bill getting through parliament to be honest, surely there are enough MP's who understand the implications of this to trample it in the HoC. Even then would the HoL ratify it or am I being naive

Voting to impose, self inflicted, economically damaging trade barriers on your own country seems like a strange way of protesting against the government.

Well, it's so nice to know that you are at peace with your decision. That the "willy of the people in the greatest democratic exercise in our history was enabled"
Of course you forget, purposely or not, the High Court ruling that apart from one technicality it was deemed illegal and the result would be quashed.
That was because it was made advisory. (of course we can now see why that particular decision was made)....An eight letter word will never remove the tainted legitimacy of the result.

It's interesting (i.e. astounding) to see people uphold the referendum vote as sacrosanct yet are barely bothered that the votes at the 2019 election can be discarded so ruthlessly. Johnson got voted in on the basis of the 'deal' (WA) he signed off on with the EU. It is now proposed to rewrite it out of all recognition.

I can guess who this is. He's ignoring me and I'm ignoring him.

Protest vote against Cameron and Osborne. What an idiot!

I voted Remain, but accepted the referendum verdict. I did hope the Government would make the best of what IMHO was a bad decision, but it appears that the Johnson/Cummings Government is trying to make Brexit as damaging as possible.

How do they expect to agree a trade deal with the EU, if they show they think they can amend international agreements unilaterally?

My 95-year-old mother voted for Brexit as a protest vote, assuming Remain would win. She didn't want to quit the EU, she was just angry with Cameron. That worked out well.

As the saying goes... once you resort to insults you know you’ve lost the argument..

Seems to be quite a few on here who fall into that category... the tolerant I know better than you left ones 😂😂😂
