Pelosi delivers UK another trade deal warning

And SF did a fair amount of fundraising and they signed the agreement.

So I have no idea what your point is.

Looks like, as Brexit crashes into reality, it's just anger, conspiracies and fabrications from here on out
Well it was at a time when the IRA had a bombing campaign in England. So much for the US wanting peace.

An alternative viewpoint may be that this came at a time when the British were in Ireland when they had no business being there? There's two sides to everything and whether you like it or not the US had a big role to play in the GFA and have a continued interest in peace in Ireland. Somewhat ironically, this Government you support so vehemently seem determined to do the opposite and bring The Troubles kicking and screaming into the modern day.

You think the EU bullies the UK, and yet ask yourself this; who is threatening to break International Law in order to ride roughshod over an agreed treaty which has implications WAY beyond an EU-UK trade deal. Which side of the negotiations is characterised consistently by petulant acts and stamping of the feet? We have become and absolute laughing stock, not only in Europe but around the whole world and all because of this shower of a Government who are corrupt to the core and an absolute affront to democracy.

If you're comfortable wearing those hard right Tory blinkers that's your call but don't expect the majority to agree with you. Huge, huge numbers of Brexiteers are appalled at the way this Government have conducted themselves and even though Boris Johnson thought he could surround himself by like minded hard-right Brexiteers in his party, the European issue is STILL going to destroy the party. The candid nature with which this corrupt Government are acting beyond the law and equally as badly, with any degree of decency or conscience, disgusts even some of the most Eurosceptic Tories.
I asked myself those questions and guess what the answer was ?

Why don't you tell us instead of making an awful lot of noise while saying absolutely nothing at all? Try backing things up though instead of one liners and typical far-right bluff and bluster that means absolutely sod all. Still, people like you and other hard right / EDL / BNP types seem to lap it up.

Im not any of those things - do you think Im a nazi as well ?

Did I say that? Did I even insinuate that? Why not just answer the questions at hand instead of answering with empty words that mean nothing?

You’ve contributed a lot to this thread without actually saying anything other than EU = bad, this government = heroes for standing up to them.,

Well it was at a time when the IRA had a bombing campaign in England. So much for the US wanting peace.

Reagan, Bush and Clinton declared their commitment to a peaceful solution. The US Government never supported the IRA - lots of Irish Americans did. The US government went as far as to limit the funding capacity of NORAID.

Now, Irish American caucus is in full support of the GFA.

This refusal to engage with even the simplest level of nuance really is embarrassing.

Hundred, are you seriously saying , if someone served up a a bowl full of something that looked like dog dirt and smelled like dog dirt that you would smile and tuck in?
Personally I'd at least ask to look at the recipe.

In other news UK and Japan free trade deal agreed! Fcuk Pelosi she's a daft old bat

'Sounds pedantic but is important - the deal has not yet been really concluded in full and certainly not signed...agreement in principle is its own thing for a reason!

in a way we have Japan to thank for having our first standalone one - they did not want to roll over the FTA we had with them through the EU and so while much of this is about continuity and avoiding a gap, some def UK specific add ons

Great to see. Presume not every trade deal the UK signs is going to be explicitly framed as a competition with the EU, and that this is about Japan being a continuity deal plus (we love our pluses)'

- Allie Renison (IOD Trade advisor)

'I've opened up the UK description of the benefits of the Japan FTA, and the first thing on the list looks very much like the UK signed away rights that the EU recognised and protected. I'll have to wait to see the text, but it's almost guaranteed. '

- Steve Analyst.

'UK-Japan FTA:
-Good news, UKs 11th largest trade partner, don't want to lose that
-Economically neutral, existing EU-Japan deal
-Interesting indication of UK priorities (who thought Geographical Indications? Bit extra on services)
-Japan probably more helpful than others will be
-CPTPP accession far from guaranteed (respect for law important to members)
-UK-Japan trade may still decline if Japanese companies don't use UK as European base
-Never going to be UK-EU replacement
-Doesn't tell us much about future UK economy
-Shows we can do trade deals with other major countries
-Shows limitations of UK over EU trade deals (swap some tariff concessions for others)
- no surprise to trade specialists
-Wins for Japan still unclear, any hidden nasties?

Rollover of the existing EU-Japan deal confirmed 'in principle' (a usual negotiators trick, could mean many things), details presumably to follow but don't expect drastic changes from the existing, and the trade increase is versus a notional no-deal, not the current situation.'

- David Henig (UK Director@ecipe making sense of Brexit & Trade/ also global trade policy/ TTIP veteran/ Co-founder @uktradeforum )

'Reminder - Japan's initial reluctance to sign a roll-over deal changed as a result of its industry's concerns regarding the outcome of UK-EU talks.'

- De Anna Jerzewska (14 years trade/#customs /FTAs experience. Consultant for UN @ITCnews,@britishchambers and others. Ex-big4.@UK_TPO Associate Fellow.@TradeExperette )

FT suggests the added value of this trade deal to the UK is 0.07%.

So it's ok news, but lets not get carried away.

Yes you did say that
"Still, people like you and other hard right / EDL / BNP types"

About as close as you can get without saying the word
You see you always kick off with the insults when you read a view that doesn't agree with yours. But you carry on.
Just like a few other like minded people to you do.

I'm not even a Brexit supporter. As I have stated many many times. But I have no time for the hard EU extremists. And yes the two views can sit alongside very comfortably

so I didn’t say that, and you’re lying? Not going to argue with you there is footy on, but please don’t lie. And please try to answer questions put to you in future.

If we signed up to something that is enforceable in international law. And now decide it is so bad it could break up the UK.
How the hell did that happen ?
I presume it it was May and the incompetents around her.
Maybe these people should be on trial for putting this country in such a position in the first place.

And WG the football was so bad last night I even took time out to read one of your comments. However that is more of a verdict on the football than your ramblings.

Your lack of understanding is somewhat worrying; by trampling all over the agreed treaty there is much more chance of a return to a hard border between NI and Eire, while this whole shower is making it much more likely that the union will break up with Scottish independence not too far in the future. To suggest the EU walked all over Theresa May and this is the result shows an astonishing lack of knowledge on your part; remember, this 'oven ready' deal was signed by Boris Johnson not Theresa May. As for talking about a trial, the PM who SHOULD be on trial is Boris Johnson for this absolute mess that he has almost single-handedly brought this nation into.

Regarding your deflection I can only assume it's because I called you out for the liar you are, as well as being a particularly unpleasant individual.
