Payero starts for boca tonight

Forget him now it’s a joke . People want a player and a manager in and once they here they want rid and want the next potential manager in then repeat and cycle goes on .
We need to stick with the same manager for a period of time and allow him to build not rocket science is it .
The thing is now we do require a midfilder who can score shots from outside the box that what payero brought to the side.

It's weird how when a player is in a Boro shirt he's quickly deemed not good enough.... As soon as he takes the shirt off, he's our potential savior.
If that’s aimed at me

I was championing his cause whilst he was still here as many on here will testify.

I think we all wanted payero to be a magician but if a manager isn’t going to use him for what ever reason there’s no point him being here . It didn’t look like he had the chance to show fans what he can do I can only assume the manager didn’t see him do enough in training

It wasn't aimed at anyone specific, it wasn't even directly aimed at Payero... because it's happened with a lot of players over the years.

I think we all wanted Payero to succeed, and there was definitely "something there", but if we're honest with ourselves... He wasn't good enough. We tried, it didn't work out, he's back where he belongs.

The trouble is wilder doesnt know how to fix our defence & he has to wait till jan to buy again where will we be by then thats what worries me his idea of defending is everybody run forward & hope the off side rule will save us even having our keeper go walkabout tonight will prove this if he pulls Roberts who is a solid keeper for onloan Steffen that makes me nervous when he plays.
doesn't know how to? Gimme a break. We've had Clarke for 2 games, he's a key part of fixing the defence. If you are going to bring Steffen into the discussion, our settled first choice defence have never played together.

We never tried though that’s the point

He played less than 600 mins for us.
He did but regardless, we have to trust the manager has seen enough in training that he hasn't got the attributes needed for the role. He clearly has plenty of ability, but maybe not the abilities Wilder wants. On top of that I doubt he really settled in the country not speaking the language.

He was injured a lot to be fair. It’s hard to show what you can do when you are either injured or making your way back from injury.

He didn’t get much luck but he also went flying into a silly challenge for his last injury.

It didn’t work out sadly. There is clearly ability there though and I don’t think any Boro fan wouldn’t wish him luck for the future.

I think part of the reason we let him go was for Payero himself. Can’t have been easy for him to settle not knowing the language and it not working out on the pitch. Another season like that would do him no good. I think it’s a good move for him.

That said we look light now so he’d have probably got more chances this season but at the time he left he wasn’t really in Wilders plans.

Wilder doesn't like foreigners, not in the xenophobic way, but in the way that he wants people that understand his instructions and that have experience of playing in England.

Payero was never going to have a chance with Wilder.

I’ve personally beloved wilder has picked the team to highlight to the recruitment team what he needs . Now the window is shut I suspect our results will certainly change and wel always play 2 forwards . Hope he sorts that defence it’s in his hands . I’d drop lenihan personally but he is his signing . Maybe injury will force the right back 3

He would have also been watched in hundreds of training sessions throughout the season by the manager and all the coaching staff.

There were also rumours that he wasn't settled here and wanted to move back, so it was the right move.

Payero is playing tonight against river plate nice to see him getting a good run of games and against quality opposition now in river plate

Signing players without any English is a difficult situation, particularly when they are young and just developing.

Argentinian league football is not a high standard, the national teams best players in the main play abroad.

We are in a league with Luton Rotherham and Blackpool

Are you seriously arguing boca v river plate is a Lesser standard than Rotherham??

We are in the championship

The lesser teams in the Argentinian Premier league may well be a lower standard than Rotherham.

Will Boca be paying the wages that say Norwich or Burnley pay?

Money talks Jedi - Peltier will probably be on £10k to £12k a week @ Rotherham - higher pay than some Premier teams in Argentina

You could argue wetdoing the right thing in sending him to a high profile team in his homeland where he can build his confidence and minutes. It’s anyone’s guess if he’ll come back to us or we’ll sell him on.
