Panama

Was meant to be going there next year with my mates to tick Rooster fish off my bucket list. Can’t see me going anywhere atm. By all accounts and the nature of the country means the weather varies quite a lot dependent on what ocean you live, it’s not a huge country but I think the Atlantic side can get twice as much rainfall in a year.

Ben Fogle did a lives in the wild episode there which might be worth checking out.

I went for a fortnight a few years ago and really liked it. Panama City has some nice old squares but feels modern overall. Also went to the mountains and spent some time doing touristy things like zip lining and rafting. We then went to some small islands off the Caribbean coast, it was very Caribbean in feel, laid back, and lovely beaches and water.

As I said I really liked it, I think it's cheaper than Costa Rica in general, I wouldn't mind living there at all.

I'd like to go and sit there all day watching the boats go through the canal, like a super slo-mo version of train spotting.

Sorry if that's not very helpful

I like this thread very lighthearted in a screwed up world. I, of course, accept that this is not very helpful.
