Pakistan v England 1st test

If that was any other side involved it'd have been a draw.

Think it's fair to say England are probably the only side in the world who could've got themselves into a position to win it and almost certainly the only side who'd have realistically then tried to win it from that point.

I don't think the risk of Pakistan knocking off the runs came into the thinking at all. Was all about giving themselves enough time, on that wicket, to have a decent chance of bowling them out.

It's great to see. There's no fear of defeat at all, just a laser focus on trying to win. That mindset change also seems to have fixed the batting issues at a stroke. It's barely believable the difference.

You are right but it’s this England side and certainly England sides in the past wouldn’t have done that. It’s a whole new approach to the game. 6.5 an over in the first innings was run scoring not seen since pre war tests. It’s a great way to sell the game because let’s face it longer form of cricket needed a boost. This England team are the vanguards in that.
