It really depends on whether that 40% vote or not, whether they will vote tory regardless and whether the tories get rid of Johnson. If that 40%were all going to vote tory and now they won't it's a huge number albeit disappointing.

Personally I blame the criminal but see nothing wrong with holding a mirror up to those who voted for him, many of whom laughed off warnings about the man's character.

Not necessarily. The Labour request is for a senior minister, though with something like this it would be Gove from the Cabinet Office.

No, iam equating voting to put a corrupt government in power solely because of brexit.
Everyone could see what sort of person johnson is long before the 2019 election.
Those who never vote tory but did so because of brexit alone must accept responsibility for the mess.

Cummings and Gove are very tight and go back a long way, the end game of Cummings campaign will be a change of PM, however Johnson is a cult figure who goes way beyond Party Politics, a bizarre fusion of ineptitude and bombast which has somehow struck a cord with many rank and file British voters, it actually doesn’t matter what he does as he has seduced them with his little boy lost act and use of verbiage that they don’t understand but interpret as it’s what they want to hear.
It seems the Conservative Party are aware that the genie is out of the bottle and is also out of control, the suits who like to pull the strings are unable to control Johnson and those who know and work with him know the damage and schism he can cause, Cummings intervention is a chaos engine in attempt to destabilise and skirmish with the Johnson camp, the alignment of the big guns over the next few days will indicate the direction this war will take, with Old Etonian’s playing an erstwhile Caligula and Nero, outside the kingdom is burning and those involved too invested in the fight to help quell the flames.

A lot of criminals are con men though who get people on their side. It goes with the territory. Johnson has deceived people on a mass scale by seeing the gap available on the Brexit issue and doing his Uncle Boris act.
It is what it is, at least 55% of the voters at the last election are not culpable.
