That’s the hope isn’t it? If the precedence is set here there is surely a whole slew of court cases lined up on dodgy contractsIf the government lose this case then the door opens wide to other cases of awards being made to friends, wives and associates of Tory MP's. The stakes are high

Jolyon Maughan QC. Fine upstanding citizenThe Good Law Project are also taking him to the Court of Appeal over his Barney Castle trip.
There is a very real danger in this happening. The government are deliberatly making the court cases from the GLP expensive to try and force them into dropping the proceedings and using our money to do so.half a million £$pondoolicks for the initial days hearing - govt are throwing their wigs at the defence of this one, with our money of course.
There already is strict governance, set out in procurement rules, its just the government chose to bypass them, citing urgency as the reason why.I wasn’t aware this was even a thing - I hadn’t heard anything about this in the news - hopefully a lot more governance of this sort of thing follows this case !
What? So basically they were given the contract, got paid and haven’t provided anything in return. That’s crazy. Many companies who were to supply PPE are still yet to do so.
Yep, exactly that. What makes it worse is many of them don't actually supply PPE, so how they were going to manufacture and supply the requisite number is a mystery. What? So basically they were given the contract, got paid and haven’t provided anything in return. That’s crazy.
From this and brexit - you would think there would be more scrutiny. There seems to be no shame / you would think they at least make it look believable i.e. hand money to companies that do have the capability or some sort of background in the goods being payed fior.Yep, exactly that. Some people have made a lot of crooked money out of Covid.

An unearned 80 seat majority is a helluva drugFrom this and brexit - you would think there would be more scrutiny. reminds me of brexit and the company who got paid to provide ferries who didn’t own any.
