Our Mate Dom Cummins - back in the courts and news again

I wasn’t aware this was even a thing - I hadn’t heard anything about this in the news - hopefully a lot more governance of this sort of thing follows this case !

half a million £$pondoolicks for the initial days hearing - govt are throwing their wigs at the defence of this one, with our money of course.
There is a very real danger in this happening. The government are deliberatly making the court cases from the GLP expensive to try and force them into dropping the proceedings and using our money to do so.

I would ask everyone to donate cash to the project to allow them to continue holding this government to account. https://goodlawproject.org/donate/

There already is strict governance, set out in procurement rules, its just the government chose to bypass them, citing urgency as the reason why.

It then just so happened that millions of pounds fell to companies with connections to MP's, or those bidding for contracts in areas which they had no previous market experience; I'm sure it was all very ethical and above board, as all things are with this government.

Many companies who were to supply PPE are still yet to do so.

Yep, exactly that. What makes it worse is many of them don't actually supply PPE, so how they were going to manufacture and supply the requisite number is a mystery.

Some people have made a lot of crooked money out of Covid.
From this and brexit - you would think there would be more scrutiny. There seems to be no shame / you would think they at least make it look believable i.e. hand money to companies that do have the capability or some sort of background in the goods being payed fior.

reminds me of brexit and the company who got paid to provide ferries who didn’t own any.

An unearned 80 seat majority is a helluva drug

It's not just the dodgy contracts, it the fact that most of these companies that in no way have any expertise is PPE manufacturing or procurement got huge sums up front.

These companies then produced substandard products or even none at all, while experienced manufacturers were ignored as they were not on the governments "VIP" list.

There should be a full public enquiry into this now, as not only has the taxpayer lost billions, its cost lives.

And a pub landlord mate of Hancock's got a contract for covid related supplies - amount not disclosed - for balance from the Grauniad and the Daily Hate.
