Not sure exactly. I do know that if we come below 17th its our worst in 34 years. This season is on course for what? 8th worst in our history?
More like a catIs it just me or does 1975-1981 look a bit like Batman?
Worth noting that despite everything he had previously done, including getting us to Wembley for the first time that very season, the performance 34 years ago was enough to get Rioch sacked. Has Carrick really achieved enough to be safer? Not sure exactly. I do know that if we come below 17th its our worst in 34 years.

This was my point on another thread earlier. Every one of those troughs since 86 has resulted in a sacking except 98. When we get into a Champions League place someone will start a World War it has happened twice before (league position for Champions League). What do the conspiracy theorists make of that.
You can only measure the low point once it starts going back up. That's just the low point so far. If we lose the rest of our matches, get relegated and then continue that form into next season in L1 before sacking him then our current position would be looking lofty! This was my point on another thread earlier. 1990 - Rioch
1994 - Lennie
2010 - Southgate
2012 - Mowbray
2020 - Woodgate
Gibbo's record speaks for itself

Yes, and we've sacked manager after manager since 2017, and I wouldn't be surprised if we have another new one this year. Could be 9 managers in under 8 years if so.Appreciate our historic performance pre-Gibson but if anything shouts out from the Gibson years, it's money.
Roughly 10 years of gradual improvement, followed by 10 years or so as a top flight team (when we were punching above our weight financially) followed by 10 fairly fallow years where Gibson is now a small fish in a big pond.
Abramovich was 2003, looks like we held our own for a couple of seasons before more multi-billionaires joined the fun and we've struggled to compete since?
We'd lost two and drawn one when war was declared. Where do these myths come from?Yep. 1939 was going to be our year but not only did the Germans choose Middlesbrough to be the first town to bomb in Britain, they also scuppered our best start to a season ever in the top flight and got the league abandoned.
We'd come 5th, then 4th and were 'fancied' for the title, but started badly. We'd lost two and drawn one when war was declared. Where do these myths come from?
