Our full backs

If your wide midfield players simply don’t track back and think about defending now and again the full backs, as they are time and time again, are being left completely exposed. You could stick Trippier, Kyle Walker, TAA - whoever you like at full back for the Boro - they can’t do it on their own and even they would struggle playing behind these two.

Engel was very poor for their third goal, but he created a number of opportunities going forwards.
I still think he's fine.

Van den Berg had a really bad game for me, at fault for the first two goals and offers almost nothing going forwards, and I'm really hoping Dijksteel gets brought in against Leicester.
A lot of that will be because he's a centre back that is doing a job.

We defend better with McGree and Forss in the wide positions

Never gonna happen you don't understand the way we play. We were open today and that makes us even more open at the back

2 attacking full backs is suicidal

Plymouth are a good attacking team, up against two defenders who have never played in the English Championship.
It's easy to point the finger at them, however several players were at fault with some of their goals today.
it was a good game, a great advert for the Championship, Leicester next up, that game won't be as open as this one.

VDB made two mistakes and we were punished for them - but he otherwise played well. (Covering the run for the second goal is a relatively a minor error - only 1 in 100 does the player curl in the far corner)

I thought Engel was one of our better players - except the free kick that led to the third goal - those types of goals go in a lot if you perfectly curl it in the far corner. He put several really good passes in - not every one came off but he was progressive and a couple of his passes started dangerous moves.

VDB'S been decent overall, especially considering his age, but Dijksteel is a specialist right back and was impressive on Tuesday night, looked sharp and dangerous going forward. Deserves a start but Carrick really doesn't seem to like him for some reason. Was surprised Rodgers didn't get a start also, as has likewise been outstanding from the bench.

He's barely ever been fit under Carrick, that's why he's never established himself. Plus he's not actually that solid at right back, he was better on the right of a 3. VDB had done fine generally but is limited going fowatd. Im sure Dijksteel will get his chance

I thought he looked rusty, as he should , after so long out .
He needs game time progressively.. he's been out a while .
People were calling for clarke back recently, they didn't notice he didn't move off the bench to even warm up.
I'd love Dijksteel, as a full back there asap , but he's gotta be weeks away fitness wise from sat Tues sat

I can not for the life of me see how RVDB is a better full back than Dijksteel. If he plays against Leicester he will get murdered.
Hes not a full back. And doesn’t play full back anyway.. he plays in a 3 when we go forward dijkstel can't do that . My god
