The importance of today`s FA from other clubs and Managers:

Richie Barker - Assistant Coach at Derby County
Bizarrely I think the older you are, the more important the FA Cup is. I think the magic of it may be lost a little on the younger ones.
Unfortunately now the Champions League or staying in the Premier League has kind of leapfrogged the importance of the competition but it's still a trophy and it's the oldest cup competition in the world and one of the most famous too.
It should still send out those exciting vibes to fans and players and it's something a bit different. It gives you an opportunity to do something you may not normally get.

Jesse Marsch - Leeds United
On the match itself at the Cardiff City Stadium, Leeds will be taking over 6,000 fans and the head coach wants to see his side go on an FA Cup run this season.
“I’ve been on different ends of what a cup match can be,” Marsch stated.
“David and Goliath, as a player and a manager. I think it’s really important to understand that for both teams it’s really important.
“We expect the best out of Cardiff and it won’t be easy. When we got draw, we weren’t happy as it will be a very difficult game.

Chesterfield -John Croot
Chief executive John Croot spoke with 1866 Sport ahead of our Emirates FA Cup clash with Sky Bet Championship side West Bromwich Albion on Saturday (3pm kick-off). He covered various aspects of the tie but began by touching on his excitement for the fixture, he said: “I personally just can’t wait now, I’m excited.
“We’re buzzing for it; the whole club are looking forward to it including the non-playing staff.
“There’s a real buzz around the place and the stadium is going to be packed with fans so were certain that supporters are looking forward to it too.
“From the ticket office staff right to the players, everyone in the club is really looking forward to the game and there’s a real buzz amongst supporters and staff.

Steve Cooper - Forest
"An FA Cup tie away from home, on a Saturday at 3pm and Blackpool are competing well in the Championship. It's probably the most classic FA Cup tie you can get at this stage and we look forward to that. "We're a proud, historic Club in England and we need to represent the FA Cup well for what it stands for. We'll go there with real positivity and intentions to do well knowing that it's going to be a tough game but one we're looking forward to."

Tony Mowbray - The Deckchairs
Mowbray explained: “From 1970, I used to remember every cup final. I sat in my bedroom with the curtains drawn with my dad. With his mates from the pub and the spread that my mam put on. It was day in our house early on...“Is there any gloss taken off? The big clubs still end up in the final and it’s still a fabulous day for everybody to watch."

John Dhal Tomasson - Blackburn Rovers
“I was watching the FA Cup as a young boy in Denmark in front of the screen. I grew up with English football and know everything about the cup.
“It always feels different because it’s a game that you can win or you lose and you’re out of it.
“What England is very good at is that it’s the only place in the world that keeps the traditions of the competitions and the passion for it. We should always keep that because that’s what England’s about and it’s a big thing.

Neil Harris - Gillingham
“Priestfield will be full and when this place is full there is a great atmosphere and a great feel to it. It won’t intimidate the opposition who have world class players but we can try and make it as awkward as we can for Leicester. “It is an exciting fixture. We need some luck but we can do it with a smile on our face and enjoy it.”
“Let’s see where this takes us. I want to enjoy the environment, I want to enjoy the atmosphere and I want our fans to come and enjoy the day.
“We have earnt the right to be here. I like to see FA Cup upsets, and I would love to see one on Saturday.
“We have to pull off a monumental effort to try and get a positive result but this is the beauty of the FA cup isn’t it? Anything’s possible.”
“We have earnt the right to be here. I like to see FA Cup upsets, and I would love to see one on Saturday.

Kieran McKenna - Ipswich Town
"It's a break from the league campaign and we have had lots of games recently and more coming up. The FA Cup is a historic competition and one we're proud to be involved in. We'll do everything we can to win the game.

Why is tony sat in the bedroom curtains drawn with his dad and his dad's mates from the pub
Can understand the curtains drawn bit as the sun can be strong in May outside. Maybe his mum and banished them all from the lounge as she and her mates wanted to watch the BBC 2 film.
