Only 1 Tory MP stood up to Johnson

Not seen it today in canary wharf at the office cos Jacob told me to.

I'll enjoy it later. Oh and in a bar for a liquid lunch 7.80 for a pint of asahi..... Eek

He has really worked out how to get under Johnson's skin. He might have to withdraw his suggestion that Johnson criticised the BBC for their Ukraine coverage, but the damage is done and Tory MP's will be forced into answering questions about the Archbishop of Canterbury and the BBC.

Also, Johnson hastily arranged a trip to India to get away from the heat, but now won't be there when the Tory MP's are being whipped to defend him being referred to the Parliamentary Standards Committee, which might mean a few more aren't cowed from rebelling.

What is it about the Tories that make them attract snivelling little creeps like Simon Clarke? He is Harry Enfield's Tory Boy to a tee.

He's such a snivelling little (not literally) servant boy to Johnson, I'm amazed he didn't have his head kicked in daily growing up on Teesside.

"a good person" - the same person who cheated on his cancer stricken wife ?

Is it really more of a cult that Labour support though jam?

Some folks vote the same way, regardless of policies, both to the left and right. We all like to think we are unemotional when casting our ballot, but are we really?

Some people think brexit was worth it, regardless of the consequences, both personal and to the nation. Some people believe that the poorer in society could improve themselves, if they just choose to do that.

They aren't all even poorly read. They do buy into an aggressive media campaign that cost billions over the years.
Iam talking of the cult of johnson because he "got brexit done".
Those that will excuse any behaviour because of that.
Brexit trumps everything and those against johnson are just " bitter remainer losers ".
Those are the people that will ensure he gets away with it and anything else

Whilst I agree to a certain extent. You have to remember that some folks are, essentially, racist. They will support the ideology of keeping foreigners out, despite the fact brexit doesn't. You really need to in understand your enemy, not dismiss them.

When the letters go in and he wins the resulting leadership election because everyone else is even worse, he will be unassailable in the Party for a year, to go with his unassailable majority in Westmister.

PR needs to happen.

I heard Rees Mogg on the radio this morning doing some linguistic gymnastics while trying to excuse Johnson lying to Parliament.
Out if touch is too kind to them as it would indicate some hope that they'd see why people are appalled at their behaviour. The truth is they think the laws don't apply to them, just us mere mortals.
Where was he then as he wasn’t in his usual place in the front bench.

Well done Harper, sadly the exception that proves the rule.
Interesting thought. The Tories need a new leader. First requisite - somebody with integrity. Harper seems to be the only one with any credibility in the eyes of the UK electorate.
Imagine Clarke stepping forward for a more senior role 🤣
