Only 1 Tory MP stood up to Johnson

I heard Rees Mogg on the radio this morning doing some linguistic gymnastics while trying to excuse Johnson lying to Parliament.
Out if touch is too kind to them as it would indicate some hope that they'd see why people are appalled at their behaviour. The truth is they think the laws don't apply to them, just us mere mortals.

Museum Piece Mogg, the anti-abortionist who makes huge profits from investment into a pharma company who manufacture abortion drugs.

A c**t of the highest order, even by tory standards.

The penny hasn't dropped for them yet, that's all.

Once the May Council elections provide some clarity on how much the majority of the electorate despise the lying piece of sh, they will start to unhitch themselves from the Johnson Circus, in order to preserve their careers and their party for that matter.
I wish I could share your faith. Just listening to Scully doings the rounds this morning talking absolutely nonsense. Giving hand gestures the way he did is an absolute giveaway he knows he doesn't believe a word he is saying. Shameful isn't close to what these odious wasters come out with.

The cult will insure he gets away with it, whilst johnson has their unquestionable support he's untouchable

Labour wanted to trigger the vote to get on record mp's support or lack of for Johnson to use on the upcoming by elections. They don't expect to win it, but it will provide a lot of opportunities for tarring with the same brush.

Which I think has already happened for a lot of the public anyway, but when Johnson goes, they will try to claim it was all just him. This pins them down individually come the next election and as a corrupt and morally bankrupt Party. It is good tactics.

Starmer has a clever team with him now and tactically they often do well. Cooper has Patel on toast. Thornberry does very well in interviews. Rayner often does well coming from the left and being more outspoken, allowing Starmer to be statesman like. Reeves is good v Sunak. Milliband is skilled and has extra credibility on energy.

Importantly, of the two big rallying points Johnson had, Starmer has very effectively distanced himself from Corbyn and he has refused the bait on Brexit.

This during two years of national crises when incumbent governments always get a bump in the polls. Starmer is not just sinking the opposition flagship, he is ensuring the entire fleet is shackled to it and going down with it.

Is it really more of a cult that Labour support though jam?

Some folks vote the same way, regardless of policies, both to the left and right. We all like to think we are unemotional when casting our ballot, but are we really?

Some people think brexit was worth it, regardless of the consequences, both personal and to the nation. Some people believe that the poorer in society could improve themselves, if they just choose to do that.

They aren't all even poorly read. They do buy into an aggressive media campaign that cost billions over the years.

His speach after Johnsons apology was superb. The best performance in parliament in years.
