I'd have liked to have seen how them winning the competition would have changed Dutch & European football esp... I think England would have found the passing & technical game far quicker than we have..

** they were still great in 78 though was just a game too far for them v Argentina..

Do you mean one Team to win the World Cup but didn’t? Brazil 1982.

Remember when they got the early penalty in the 74 final, I was a 13 year old jumping all over the front room, for me they were the team of that world cup, recall them taking Brazil apart, 2-0 IIRC, the cup was theres, unfortunately it wasnt though

Dont recall as much about their route in 78 other than for me they were still the top team in the tournament & again losing in the final to Argentina

Holland couldn’t get over the line but I do think Argentina were good in 1978, very exciting to watch and with some genuinely world class players.
