One album wonders

Agree with Minor Threat... (they had a couple of decent EPs too).

Would you class 'Operation Ivy' as a classic? I'm a huge Rancid fan... But I'm always a bit 'hmmm' when it comes to Operation Ivy.

(Btw - Have you ever listened to Common Rider?)

Re Operation Ivy, I like it and think it was probably ahead of its time and paved the way for a lot of what came after.

No not heard Common Rider, but think they're a bit more modern and I stopped really listening to punk & hardcore a while ago TBH, save for the occasional outing of something to take me back to my youth.

His first album Tapestry is actually good. Features the melody And I Love You So which kickstarted his career. Def not a one album wonder for me.
Tapestry was the first one I got ( Homeless Brother was decent as well) Tapestry only got to 22 in the UK LP charts on its reissue in 1972 (after American Pie was a hit ) Was originally issued 1970 but didnt chart ... AP got to 2 in UK and 1 in USA

Yeah not saying Tapestry was a better album than AP but it was a decent enough one to exclude DM from the list of one album wonders.

I think Tapestry has just as many great songs as A.P. Three Flights Up, Castles In The Air, Orphans of Wealth, Magdalane Lane, And I Love Her So. All as good as anything on A.P which is a great album as well.

The Postal Service, - Give Up
Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers - L.A.M.F. ...............although production was **** on original release.

I must have loads of others. I I get time I will browse my record collection.
