I have seen the story in the gazette now. Their is a lot of hate in their in the comments. I would just like to say don’t believe everything you read we are all not coke heads and flash dans.
 
I worked in the industry for 8 years and 6 of those offshore. There's some brilliant lads in an industry that employs a lot of people from the North East.

Good on those trying to force the industry to pay more. Rates of pay took a big hit in 2015 and haven't recovered to those levels. What's worse is how quickly lots of people were cast aside and made redundant once COVID hit. The drilling side of things took a real hammering. Drilling contractors are now attempting to get skilled people back on much less pay than two years ago.

I hope the lads taking action succeed and good luck in it.

If you're referring to the comments section of the EG story, I wouldn't worry too much because it does tend to attract societies most intolerant and uneducated.
