..... probably feel very relieved that a horrible losing run had come to an end. Think 47 points + 3 or 4 more and I can plan my beach attire. Wished that we played Norwich at home every week especially after the tummy tickling we gave them last season. Laugh at the people on here who seemed upset that we benefitted from a dodgy decision, imagine going to a resurgent QPR with another loss?

I don't see anybody upset over it, just a lot of people acknowledging a poor decision. All that I've seen are happy without denying it happened.

Was it dodgy though? Ref was a lot closer and regarded it as deliberate, I doubt he made the decision lightly. We would have been furious if he'd crocked Howson and only got a yellow or a warning. Just look at some of the dodgy challenges that put other players out of action recently and the offending players got off lightly.

Swings and roundabouts, enjoy the win and move on

It's funny having a read of the Norwich fans who are rightfully annoyed this morning.

It didn't take much for them to throw Howson out of the supposed Hall of Fame. They hate him now. Oh well, he's our anyways.
I actually saw a few of them on Twitter saying Sainz was petulant and they chucked it away through stupidity. Surprising really, I'd have been fuming.

I'm not bothered either way, human error is just as much part of the game as perfect decisions. I was at Plymouth when a sending off and a penalty were denied us in the closing stages, which would have seen us win, you just have to accept it and move on.

Howson has been knocked around for years on end. He is a proper footballer and not a soft modern play actor. I don't remember him reacting like that before, so it must have caught him.

Dubious?

In the ref's opinion it met the conditions for violent conduct, in that he kicked out at Howson.

I dont see how this could be rescinded on appeal. The ref was right on the spot, there are no other mitigating circumstances

It was a soft red yes but how many bad decisions have we had against us? It all evens itself out over the course of a season, we took good advantage of the situation and its ended our poor run. Another win and draw and all talk of relegation can be forgotten - this lifts a huge burden off players and manager

If you want to see a really bad decision, watch QPR's highlights from last night! WBA defender taps the ball over the bar with his hand (intentionally). Instead of red card and peno, ref gives a corner :ROFLMAO:

I watched some highlights on YouTube last night and they had the Norwich commentary over them. When reviewing the replays the Norwich commentators used the term petulant, so I'd imagine that's where the seed was planted.

Have to say I've watched it several times and can't see anything wrong with the challenge and can't see him do anything in the reaction afterwards to warrant a red card. The red was right on the spot though (and Howson doesn't react like he did for no reason).

Was great to see bit of s/housery from howson. We don’t have enough of that in the squad. He didn’t massively overreact but did enough to let the ref know.

What they should be annoyed about is that their team, who had a poor decision go against them, then completely lost the plot and their heads.

Every team has bad decisions go against them, and it's how you react to it - the Norwich players last night (and staff, who didn't get hold of them) were completely unprofessional and threw the game away

Watching the replays I can't see anything in it, but it's not a 100% clear and the way Howson reacted ( which as said above isn't like him to to pretend) and the way the Norwich player didn't really argue may suggest something happened that shouldn't have, but on the video footage you can't really say anything did.

Correct. They had a decision go against them so they can feel a bit aggrieved but they were really poor playing with 10 men. Teams should have a plan for coping with the situation but they just didn't, they were woeful after the sending off.

If it was against us I’d be more peed off at our player than the ref.

I think it was a yellow more than red but it was very stupid by their player.
