We needed a physical presence up front on satda
Uche sent to turkey by you maybe not long term answer but put a shift in
Development strikers hoppe and Forss ww can’t afford these , we need guys to score now and start games now .
Akpom takes the biscuit not in first team squad to start pre season but coulson was ( Aberdeen happy he’s fit as an can be ) we now need akpom , he’s our main man now
Sorry chris it’s your wacky statements worrying me
Your playing with the defence all the time , is bola really a centre half in a back 3
Is there not a better back 3 on the books
It’s your team
Your players
Over to you chris
You’ve got till end of sept and if where down bottom 6 your gone
Personally after burnley fiasco if u had gone then I’d been happy
Your not the messiah , if you where you’d be at a prem club
Got a decent record on paper
Gibbo we are watching and waiting to see what happens
This season has started poorly surely it must get better
Will wilder be manager in January window ?
Not a one jerk reaction , you can’t just sit and wait and watch season drift by
Watch all the abuse come now
We need action not words every week
You only knew we needed a physical presence on Saturday, after they had set up and gone ahead, but we were still on top before then. We changed styles and subs at half time, which was the most reasonable time to do it, then we were on top even more.
Uche's not good enough for a promotion side, most fans have been complaining about playing a style which would have suited that, for years.
Proven strikers cost ~£10-£15m, we've not recruited any before any of these games, that's not Wilder's job, it's not Wilder's money. We've only been able to play one striker who has been with the club a long time, and he's not exactly known for being ruthless in front of goal.
Akpom's not the main man, and won't be, no fan or anyone at the club expected him to be either, Wilder gave him a go and he looks a good option now we can play the style Wilder wants (which the fans will like watching), but a team probably isn't getting promoted if Akpom's playing 40 games, unless Wilder improves him way beyond what any other manager did.
The defence hasn't been worse than last year, we've not been giving away many good chances, but unfortunately, a lot of not even half chances have gone in. We've also been done over on at least three goals, the Steffan foul, the Jones Foul and on Saturday they had a guy miles offside stood in Steffens view.
A September exit is ludicrous, thankfully Gibson knows more about football to think like that, he has watched every game and will have realised we've had quite tough games, without a full squad, yet been on top in most of those games. He will have also realised the second half of last season, was much better than the first, with largely the same squad.
We've scored a lot of goals, but still not enough for the chances we have created.
We have played two very, very good teams at home, both of those games we had the better chances and ended up with draws.
We have played a mix of the teams for three away games, absolutely battered two of them, and the other we won a half and lost a half.
We've not really had any easy games yet, but based on the chances we've had and blown, and the not chances we've given away and conceded, to say we've been unfortunate on goals is an understatement, that's before even factoring in for some very poor costly decisions.
If any of these statements were true, and we'd still had a poor points haul, then your point would be more valid:
We've had a lot of decisions go our way
We've played a load of crap teams
We've played poorly
We've had none of the ball
We've given away lots of good chances
We've scored enough for the chances created
We've got a no 1 striker who is good enough for a promotions side
We've got backup/ secondary strikers who have been here longer than a couple of weeks
None of them are true though, the only thing which is true is that we have a poor points haul, but if you look deeper it can be easily explained, and it's not because we're doing much wrong with the side we have. We're just conceding more than we deserve, and not taking enough chances (we've not had a main striker in for any of those games). We should have had some wins even without the main striker, for the chances we have created.
I don't think you can pin Balogun and Connolly on Wilder, he had only been here about 6 weeks and will have been spending that time learning the 20 players he had, not hunting around for players. I don't think you can even pin the summer signings on Wilder (not fully anyway), he'll have more of a say now of course, and more of an idea of what we want, but he's not scouting and analysing players, and not negotiating with them or the clubs either. Balogun is a good player, but we were a bit early on him.
The actions have been good, for what we have, but the points total hasn't, but that's explained if you dig deeper and don't just focus 100% on the points total, and nothing else.
