A Pyrrhic victory.

3 points but McNair out for 3 games and Watmore, Kebano and Fisher looking absolutely shattered when they went off after putting in such a tremendous shift.

While McNair’s red card was harsh I don’t think it will be rescinded.

There was no need to go diving in at that moment. He could have stayed on his feet and easily cleared the ball - a rash moment probably caused by the pressure they were putting us under.

Add to that Fletcher played nearly 90 minutes. Can he do that again on Saturday after such a long time out?

It was a good challenge by McNair. Giving a foul was ridiculous. Giving a red is beyond the pale. Are players supposed to be as lackadaisical as possible when challenging? The ball was there to be won and he got in there quickly. He was in control and he won the ball. Stupid decision.

We dominated for long periods and got done for some pace in the second half when huddersfield made their substitutions. Our keeper wasn't very good though and just kept inviting the pressure, that said, defensively we were all over the place once put under pressure. Fry would have made a huge difference tonight.

3 points and hopefully Fry back at the weekend. Another game for Fletcher and Kebano to get up to match fitness. Watmore looking more like his old self.

Mostly a good night. No way the red card gets turned over on appeal. Some refs wouldn't have red carded him, but some would. His studs were showing. That doesn't get overturned, I don't think.

I like the couple of chest downs Fletcher made in the second half off Bettinelli’s long kicks. He’s got a long way to go before he can be considered a decent target man but I saw a couple of promising signs. Even half-fit he offered more of a physical presence than Britt and Akpom.

Individually some decent efforts tonight, although the first 20 and the last 20 we were all over the place as a team (red card didn't help mind).

Bettanelli 6 - shaky as hell but a couple of important saves
Fisher 7 - put in a proper shift and won the penalty
Bola 8 - superb again, missed one header, other than that barely a foot wrong
Hall 8 - gave us the resilience we have missed recently in defence
McNair 7 - defended ok, put good dead balls in, never a red
Dijksteel 6 - not comfortable in that CB spot
Howson 7 - put in a real shift
Morsy 5 - poor, walking red card
Kebano 7 - showed excellent ability on the ball
Watmore 9 - an absolute thorn in their side, brilliant goal that picked us of the floor
Fletcher 6 - worked hard but didn't see too much of the ball

Spence 5 - struggled vs Rowe particularly when down to 10 men
Saville 6 - put the effort in
Johnson 6 - tried to be an outlet and supported Bola in defence, kept his nerve for the penna (just about)
Akpom 5 - not long to make an impact

Nowhere near a 'stud showing'.
Classic tackle.
Really upset that football is being ruined by officiating like that

That's the kind of tackle that can lift a crowd and change a game.
Who would want to be a defender these days

Bettinelli looks like he's won a raffle at the local fair to be a pro for the week. 😂😂
Isn’t it his dad who is a gk coach. He looks like someone who has been trained rather than having natural talent. Sadly they only got as far as week one - kicking. They never made it to catching shots.

Thought it looked fine in real time but there's no way you can argue he's in control with both feet off the ground. Stupid challenge.

but he's absolutely nowhere near the man, he isn't endangering him, and it's a lunge from a near standing start, not running and jumping. He totally gets the ball, it's not like he missed it, and caught the man

I'm going to have to watch the challenge again, but it seemed like ref was convinced by the protests from Huddersfield.

It's not like he immediately whipped out the red card.

It was a red card all day IF the opposition player had been nearer, but as it was it was just a lunge for the ball. I can see how the ref might've seen it from an angle that made it look really dangerous though. Hopefully an appeal will work.

I am not sure it deserved a red, but there is no way that gets overturned. The committee has an excuse with the raised studs, to uphold the card, so they will.

It was a rash challenge and he didn't need to go to ground, but not sure it deserved a red given he was a yard away from the player when he lunged for the ball.

It was the linesman that gave it, not the ref. The same linesman who missed the blatant tug on Watmore for a penalty.

The standard of officiating in the championship is shocking.
